24mm is better for landscapes imo. And you can use it with filters more easily

Yes, that made me feel i already have a landscape lens with my 2470GM.

vinz, dont need no freakin C-Stand

Xplor 600 + head extension + regular heavy duty stand, feels like a typical speedlight setup with weights on the stand. In short...... it's amazing. Moving around the rovelight always felt it would do bodily harm since it was so top heavy, now it's just so secure. With the weight a few inches from the floor, a blowover is just not that big of a deal. The head will probably survive, and unlikely to blow in the first place.... now with the weight on the bottom, no need for a C-stand at all, same for my boom setup.

I apologize for going off topic, but what is a good pair of headphones? I would like to spend $150 or less.

What are you looking for? Ear buds or on/over ear headphones

Looks like a good set up charlie and it looks like the flash body doubles as a weight for the stand.

simple question:
trip to Thailand - Samyang 14mm f/2.8 or Samyang 24mm /f1.4 for landscapes?
have Sony 28mm f/2.8 but not very excited about it.

bring the 14mm,if u want to not as wide u can shoot in crop mode,if u bring the 24mm and want wider ur screwed, I've never been there but I'm sure u will need the wide a few times.

couple years ago i decided to treat myself and get a nice pair of headphones as i travel for work a lot on planes,i picked up some quite expensive kliptch noise cancelling. build quality was awesome, sound was great, fast forward to last year i got a warehouse deal on amazon for a set of bludio blutooth headphones. wow incredible sound, battery life is wicked,i don't use the kliptch any more,i referred the bludio to some friends and they all love them, they are in your price range for sure,I'm sure u would like them

great idea. with weight at the same time. don't you get misfires with the strobe body on a bag?

c-stand has one more advantage though, it can be setup in uneven ground because those three separate legs can be raised.

I've seen vids where the extender does have power loss, like 2/3 of a stop at full power.... not a big deal, considering the safety gains, and like carlo says, the strobe unit essentially doubles as a weight.

I briefly shot my baby, and no missfires. There was a time, my speedlite didnt fire, but probably a recycle issue, was shooting a pretty fast sequence.

Speaking of trying things, I'm considering trying out a Batis 25mm. I still want to switch to native lenses except for my TS-E 24mm.

Won't regret it. I love mine.

Might just go ahead and get the 85 too. The 25 and 85 would be fantastic for my next KC photo assignment (starts next week).

Ultimately I think my kit will look like:

Laowa 12mm, Batis 18 & 25, Sony/Zeiss 55, and Batis 85 (along with TS-E 24).

I might eventually add the FE 24-70mm just as a general purpose lens. I enjoyed that lens when I had it and would appreciate having it on hand. Hopefully you and Charlie are happy with yours.

The Batis 85 is next on my list. Going to sell the FE 90 macro and replace it with the Batis 85.

I still use my FE 24-70 for when I do not want to carry around all my gear. No complaints here.

So that's a "pass" for me then. Same reason I have no interest in the Sigma 20.
