I believe DXo Viewpoint will help with this to a certain extent.

It not only straightens verticals, but has a geometric distortion correction that reduces the stretched look that extreme UWA lenses have near the left & right frame edge. Excellent for making the people on the edges of the frame look normal.

They just released version three last week...as a wide-angle lover I regard the software as a must have.

Capture One has a similar basic perspective correction tool that is excellent.

LR's implementation is awful on a couple of levels imo. I still use it if I'm confident my camera was level (because it's convenient), but for out of level shots, it's a disaster.

I upgraded to version 3...but have one issues with DxO Viewpoint, it has a maximum file size...if you have a multi image stitch...it will crop and resize to that size...which is frustrating.

i'm tempted to buy the iPad Pro as my BD gift but thought i will check rumors first if a new upgrade is coming. most rumors says maybe Q1 of 2017. I thought it's a good gadget for a quick edit and to be used as/for client viewing and ordering. Can be used to replace as cintiq wacom tablet too.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I will look into DXO.

I was messing around with the distortion correction in PS and its a pain to use. It takes an aggressive correction to get people looking somewhat normal so it compresses the FOV quite a bit. It looks like regardless of what method I use, it will take a 12mm FOV and compress it down something like a 16mm FOV, but still worth if I can get a 16mm FOV without the people in the middle of the frame not looking distorted.

Anyone do any black friday damage? The only thing I bought were LED light bulbs for the house. Savings that keep on saving.....

Just the ND filter kit for me. Oh and I purchased Joel T's upgraded black and white PS panel for $5.

My email inbox was flooded with lots of tempting options though.

Yeah most of the black friday shopping we got was for actual gifts. It does help to be able to get nice gifts for people on the cheap. Other than the LED bulbs, the only thing we got for ourselves was a vacuum for 24 bucks which was awesome since ours broke a couple weeks ago. Contrary to my G.A.S with camera gear, I'm pretty cheap everywhere else :-)

Great deal on the FE 55 1.8 on the slickdeals front page FYI. https://slickdeals.net …ss-lens-629-free-shipping (external link)

Bought an rx100M3. Took advantage of an Amazon deal at £499 ($623), reduced from £572.

I have been using a 5100 + 20mm as a jeans pocket (just) walk-around, but wanted an easier fit camera with an EVF, that would always be with me. Didn't need the enhancements or expense of the M4 or M5, so the 24-hour deal on the M3 appealed.

No Black Friday deals for me...I think I"m in pretty good shape gear wise.

One more of the Anna's at the feeder. I liked how he's rimmed in sunlight while his head was still in the shade.

Should I care that this is gray market? Do you folks think the FE 55 is significantly superior to the E mount 50 1.8 which I have picked up for cheap used from B&H? $400 worth? I would really like the slight bit of added FL. Gets me closer to 85mm that I LOVED on my 5d3. Other considerations would be resale.....In the event I decide to sell things down the road the FE 55 being FF compatible would obviously appeal to a larger group of individuals. Thanks

EDIT: Sold out....Thank Goodness! :p

Yep the FE 55 works great on the a6k bodies. Very sharp and light. Excellent overall performing lens. It has that nice Zeiss pop too. Don't know anything about the grey market or the 50 f1.8.

I had seriously considered buying a Sigma adapter to get me by while here in KC, but became reluctant to do it after thinking it over a couple days. Long term, since I plan to sell all my Canon-mount lenses (except TS-E 24 II), it seems like throwing $$ away to buy an adapter when I already own a perfectly good one (back in Georgia). Soooooo....instead of taking a step backward, I decided to move forward and order a Batis 18mm. Yippee! :D Should be here on Wednesday.

From my shooting so far I'm very happy with the 12mm, 25mm, 85mm kit, but have felt the need to fill the gap between 12 and 25. I'll probably wish I had a 50mm at some point, but think I can get the KC work done without it. The wide-angles are so much more important for this work. Later, after getting my Canon-mount lenses sold off, the 50mm hole in my kit can get plugged in with a Sony Zeiss 55mm f/1.8.

The B18 and B25 set a new level of sharpness for me, nothing else I've tried compares. The lox21 is supposed to be better still which is mind boggling (and the reason I still feel the need to try it one day)
