Is this a general open question...

If so...I think I have mine turned off for the viewfinder and the LCD...I think...I find that the screen images are much different than the RAW's and I focus more on the histogram than anything else.

Yep general question.

I dig this little lens...there is a quality to the images I can't really explain, I really like the softness to the bg, and that it retains some detail for context, the MFD is much shorter than I expected, that was cool.

I need to learn/figure out how to use EYE AF...the face detect works much better than adapted lenses, probably just the native factor...

Of course, the two subjects that are home today...neither want their picture taken...its like they know I have a new toy...and don't want me to play with it...

I don't shoot at high ISO too often (rarely even reach 3200). But I do have to say, I like how the A7rii can tolerate the 5 digit ISO numbers.

Leica Tele-Elmarit-M 90/2.8 SOLD :) - for about £100 more than I paid for it 18 months ago ;)

I'm tempted next to put ALL my Canon FD 35mm kit up for sale. My favourite was the FD85 which the B85 now replaces. The FD28 isn't a bad wide/landscapeish lens really - but I also have the Yashica ML28 so it is duplicated. I can't sell my Yashica stuff either, I've had it since the 90's!!

Av-1
FD28/2.8
FD50/1.8
FD85/1.8

^^^ That's not a bad film starter kit really.

I've got even cheaper china adapter rings, like less than $10 a pop :-P

been using all circular for a while now, literally carrying 2 sets of ND's/CPL's every time I go shoot ......

on a related GAS note, I'm headed down the TAP rabbit hole, have some manual lenses that I still actively use, so will love to try them out in AF form.

Hi Charlie

I've been down the TAP rabbit hole for a couple of months now, I'm amazed at how well it works. I have a fair amount of legacy glass some from the 1940s and I'm amazed that I can now autofocus some of these legacy lenses. There is one issue with the adapter and battery drainage but there is a easy workaround for that. I've recently added the Zeiss Distagon 35 1.4 ZM to my collection which work very well with the TAP, it's now my everyday lens on the A7R2.

thanks, I just read the sticky on FM and about the workaround, seems easy enough ;-)a

I'm going to do baby steps, just giving my OM 200/5 new life, that's been my toughest lens to use by far. Also picked up a rok 85 and EF to LM adapter. other than that, I do have some older FD's that I might fiddle with, no M mount stuff yet.

I only have one zoom, a MD 35-70 which works fine with the TAP. Zooms shouldn't be an issue except on the long end where the lens needs to be "pre-focussed" before the TAP kicks in, there is limited amount of movement that the TAP can execute, you will also see tis behaviour with prime greater than 85mm.

The Rokkor should work fine, you might need to pre-focus it to within the focus ballpark. Not sure what EF-LM adapter you purchased, not all of them will be mountable on the TAP. The Leicaist adapters sold by Techart work but are expensive, you can purchase the same adapter on eBay for a much a cheaper price. I'm not sure the use of manual EF lenses are worth the trouble to use on the Teacart. I have a very large collection of Zeiss ZE and Otus lenses however because of the lack of aperture rings on the ZE mounts you won't be able to change the aperture without mounting the lens on a Canon body or a Sony body with a metabones adapter.

I've slowly been collecting some legacy LTM lenses, Canon lenses in particular, they are tiny and work extremely well with the TAP.
