Alfredo, did you get the tracking notice from Kickstarter on your filter bracket? I just got tracking in my inbox. Nice to see they are finally shipping. Hope the bracket stays on better than that awful lens cap!

may be eating my words..

well before anything more is said.. i change my mind like 100 times a day.. lol,, so..

but i think as much as i'm trying to resist , i will be getting an a6500
i've been on the verge of going fuji..
well first off i'll say.. i'm happy with the a7sii , its not going anywhere.. fulfills my video needs , and its a decent stills camera.. but its AF can be funny , and 12mp .. i can tell the difference even compared to the 5d3 which i sold , and the 5d3 is no megapixel queen

so i've been looking for something thats better for stills and mirrorless... good for portraits but quick enough for street shooting and events
i was getting into M4/3 but that limited ISO abilities .. ugh.. 1600iso was the limit really ..
so yeah Fuji..
i'm hearing /seeing that skin tones are much better than with sony .. the xt2 with that joystick for focus point selection.. IQ seems very good.. very good quality lens selection.. i was all set to go.. either the xt2 or that new xt20 with a 23mm f2 to start with ..but

the problem there is , now i'd be dividing available funds between two systems-?

ive sold all my M4/3 gear.. sold 5d3 and my beloved 24-70 2.8 mkii

i think for now , i d like to stick to one system where everything is compatible..
(well the t4i and efs lenses arent going anywehre.. resale wouldnt get much anyway and the girlfriend still uses it occasionally.. plus sentimental attachment .. it was my first "real" camera)
i would say the a7ii just to stay FF , but i also want a quick AF ,, and i'm assuming the AF on the a6500 is much better

well thats the thought for now:-)

Colors are an increasingly frustrating issue I keep having with Sony. I've been playing more with my 5D3's lately and notice that I had forgotten how pleasant Canon's colors are right out of the camera. So I'm interested in seeing how the X100F will perform in the same aspect. If the colors are as good as they're often praised, then I might even think about moving away to Sony. The question then is, whether I would extend more into Fuji system or back to Canon. Since I'm still heavily invested in the Canon system (I was never persuaded by GM lenses because they completely trivialize the size benefit of A7 bodies), it would probably make the most since if I just upgraded one of my two 5D3's to 5D4. And then, if I determine that I need more megapixels, I could go for 5DS or 5DSR. That would cover me for everything I need when I get serious about photography. The one thing I wouldn't have is the small size factor - which where Fuji gains an upper hand. But I'm glad I don't have to make decisions any time soon. I've just noticed that I keep thinking more and more about abandoning Sony, as I'm not impressed by their colors and physical overall operability (though I still like A7rii's dynamic range and some special lenses like the Mitakon 50/0,95).

Great, but really technical, reading and video on color theory that popped up on my facebook feed today:

http://www.davemorrowphotography.com/color-theory-photography (external link)

I've been trying to contemplate color theory into my photos most recently, though in my case its simple complementary color to create color contrast and depth. Basically purposely honing in and drawing attention to the complementary colors in the frame and, at times, drawing attention away from the other color information that distracts from the complementary colors in the frame. Where it makes sense, I'm trying to be more minimalistic with the colors in the frame to highlight the contrast of the complementary color relationship in the scene

Anyway, I'm by no means an expert at this and am very much still learning how to contemplate color theory in my images, but here are a few examples of how I used it:

blue/yellow complementary...other colors purposely less saturated:

IMAGE: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/295/32480873785_6cd5f9b857_b.jpg
IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/RudYag (external link) _DSC8847ls (external link) by Carlo Alcala (external link), on Flickr

blue/yellow complementary...green tones in trees purposely shaded and reduced in luminance/saturation:

IMAGE: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/647/32359204951_c7031a1a0d_b.jpg
IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/RitofK (external link) _DSC1347-2 (external link) by Carlo Alcala (external link), on Flickr

the foliage was green, but I used indian summer in Nik to create a red and green complementary in the scene so you get that dramatic color contrast:

IMAGE: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/445/32115522896_d7d9126649_b.jpg
IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/QVWs51 (external link) _DSC8160 (external link) by Carlo Alcala (external link), on Flickr

red/green complementary with a green color cast in the background, and a warm color cast on the subject.... this is 'bad' from a technical standpoint, but creates dramatic contrast and makes the subject pop from the background

^ Nice examples. Yep I subscribe to Dave's YouTube channel and viewed that video. Good stuff. Much of it follows what Ted Gore covers. Color theory is definitely important in the creative process.

Thanks David. I got the email. Looking forward to receiving it. I can't wait for spring time to get more landscape shooting in.

SO odd question. I am looknig at getting a Jupiter 9 85 the old russian lens. Most on ebay are shipping from russia. so 1. have any of you bought ebay lenses from russia?

and 2. I am going to Holland in 5 weeks...... are there used camera stores there.... its a very american question but here we have pawn shops which are really crap shoots and then amazon to buy things our photo stores are going away rapidly. Understanding Europe is different but not having been there should I wait and look there for a Jupiter?

I've purchased lenses from Russia and also the Ukraine with no issues. I can't answer your holland question though, I've been many times but not sure about camera shops

Awesome Eddie. I found one on eBay from Japan the other day. Probably gone now. I can't afford to get one right now. Good luck!
