should be a black zeiss cap, both fit, but Loxia comes with black zeiss cap when new.

A7xx Gurus, How big is the jump from original A7 To A7RII ?? In terms of IQ, AF Speed with adapter.
I see lots of differences spec wise. My biggest gripe on A7 is AF (of canon lens+adaptor) is so pathetic I prefer manual focus.
A7RII at price of $2400 is too good to pass on. If I can sell my A7 for 600 odd, the upgrade cost would be $1800. Is it worth the upgrade?

Agree with everyone. I came from 7R to 7RII. night and day. If you're doing portrait though, it's nice to have a native lens to take advantage of the Eye Focus Continuous. It works.

Here's my very 1st video using the new Sony FDR-X3000. I bought a cap mount and wanted to see how stable the video was while I walked. This is from my house to my neighbor's. I thought it was very stable. I shot this at 1080P, wide angle and the audio is from the built-in microphone.

This clip is straight from the camera with no editing at all.

agreed ,.. pretty smooth there..
looks like a nice option for day time trips out with the family or what ever .. as much as i like doing video in full manual for "creative control" there are certainly many situations where i just want to film without putting any thought into it .. as well as wet situations where i'm not risking my cameras

So far, this camera meets my expectations and then some. My goal is to have a video camera to document car trips I may take and with minimal editing. So far, the only thing I wish it did is automatically detect when the camera is upside down like my Hero 4. As it is, I have to change that manually but, I can do that either through the camera menu or via the remote. Tomorrow, I should be able to take a spin and try out the remote while the camera is mounted on the windshield. I'm very impressed with the stabilization so far so am looking forward to how it works in the car while moving. I'm also interested in how the audo works when the camera is facing the windshield while I'm talking. I may have to resort to an external mic. but we shall see.

Thanks, Vinz. I already have a wireless lavalier mic so I'm thinking more along these lines. With this mic, I can use it either as a "vlog" type mic when I'm walking around or hopefully, as a better option in the car. When I get it (I haven't ordered one yet), I'll give my thoughts about it here...

I plan on mounting it using a grip for flash which I already have. It looks like this:

Gene, your video looked nice and smooth. Looks like a nice video kit you're assembling.

I finished one from my Texas Hill Country Flyer train series. This is one of the "conductors" dressed up. I may tinker with editing this to give it that old photo look.

Thanks. So far I've been very impressed with the optical steady shot feature of the camera.

I'm looking forward to the rest of your train shots too. I do like old trains...
