That's awesome Eddie. Are you able to rotate the lens with that mount into portrait orientation?

There is a mint MMJ copy of the lens on eBay for $1,000 if anyone is interested.

how much did that cost you? are you going to use a dumb adapter? or are you going to try tap?

The lens was £750 and the Leitax was £130. The Leitax is a permanently fixed adaptor that converts the mount (its on there with screws) http://www.leitax.com …es-for-SonyE-cameras.html (external link) Im going to be using it for landscape so dont need AF

To rotate into portrait orientation I can loosen the tripod collar thumb screw and rotate the whole setup 90 degrees and then lock it off again

he's using the leitax adapter, I'm going to get one of these, but will try to make it work with TAP. I have an idea, but it may take a dremel to work, and possibly junking a tripod collar....

Was this an SR shot? It has a little bit of an LE feel in the clouds, whispy moving clouds. The whites of the building have gone a touch blue and there is a a bit a variation in the panels as a result, but I love the perspective, I love that building, always have.

Having done a lot of 3D renderings, I find that I try to clean up architectural images too much, sterilize them, or add light in places where I would if I had been rendering them...its weird how that translates.

Just a simple exposure. It was a thinly overcast day yesterday, with just a touch of sunlight passing through. Unfortunately the clouds looked distractingly blotchy to me, so I did blur out some of the blotchiness. Simulating LE was not the goal. The sky wasn't even that blue. NIK color efex Polarizer pulled more blue put of the sky (and the panels too).

I targeted desaturation of the blue in the panels, but then pulled back on a bit. The panels were naturally reflecting the blue and targeting the blues turned them into a gray panel that almost made the image appear like a black-white selective color image. Anyway, they are the way they are per my conscious decision.

This photo was very much about trying to rescue a near-unusable image. The light was utter crap yeaterday and I personally felt like crap (got a bug or really bad allergies), but I didn't want to come away with nothing. Regardless, I had fun and look forward to more photography adventures in downtown Atlanta. At this point the city is mysterious - got a lot of driving and walking to do before it becomes familiar. But, my experiences have been wonderful so far.

That's a ridiculously fast response time. I have a plasma that I game on...1080p only but it's 28ms response time was super fast in its day.

Ive played every uncharted game except 4....No ps4. I do have an Xbox one...Non 4k one. I finished Final fantasy XIV yesterday....So-so story, but man that ending got me choked up. Only other game that did that to me was The Last of Us.

I'm a sucker for games with a good story. Can't wait for Mass Effect Andromeda.

The one game that will make me buy a PS4 is actually a 20 year old one, the FFVII remake. That game made me a gamer when I was 15 and saved up allowance for a few months just to buy it. Now that I have two kids I haven't played a video game since the day my first daughter was born (and she's turning 4 next month), but I told my wife that the FF7 remake will be a costly day since I'll be buying a PS4 Pro and a new tv to replace our 7 year old 42" POS.

has any one even heard of green toe haha, they have some e mount lenses and such, just curious if any one has heard anything about this service

I've used them twice so far, but haven't in a while. Once to buy a bag for $100 (new retail price was $160) and another to save $160 on a new lens. Both times the service was fine. They used to be more popular when they had frequent coupons floating around. What's funny is that both times they were fulfilled by stores that charge sales tax in my state if I bought directly, but because the green toe price is all in, the price didn't charge separately for tax.

Lol yeah I'm waiting for the FFVII remake too. The few trailers they've released look really impressive. I'm really hoping they don't mess the game up though, since a lot of the gameplay elements in the original don't really translate well into modern video games.

FFVI is my all time favorite though...I'd like to see that one remade one day.

awsome shots, i am very surprised they are so sharp being only 160/s i would have thought u would need at least 500/s to get sharp like that, cool shots

Thanks very much, Gene.

As idsurfer said, 1/160s was chosen to get a clean flash sync. Two Yongnuo YN560-iii were used at very low power, which gives an effective exposure of around 1/8,000-10,000s, freezing all movement.

Vinz & Carlo, have you checked out Manny Ortiz's latest shoot from Valley of Fire? Epic location. Looks like an amazing landscape location.

Overcast skies and incessant rain here – so just casting around for subjects to photograph.

Fruit thrown into water makes for some interesting(?) compositions. Keeps me amused anyway.

I've always wanted to try this, but I have no idea how to do it. I am guessing there's a speedlight for the lighting. But is the fruit landing in a bowl of water? If so, how do you avoid reflections on the glass? Some tips would be helpful here!

I'm so hooked by the 12mm that I now feel an overwhelming urge to add the 15mm. And if I do that, then switching from Batis 18mm/25mm to Loxia 21mm might make more sense. 12mm, 15mm, and 21mm are spaced out nicely. Not sure about a 21mm to 55mm gap (or a 25mm to 55mm gap). I may need to consider returning my 55mm and get something at 35mm (probably CV Ultron 35mm (external link) is my best choice). However, I do love the little 55mm: super sharp, lightweight, small, AF. Hate these conflicted decisions and limited budgets. :p

Having owned every single one of the lenses you mention (except the 21), I definitely think you need a 35 in there. And I definitely think the Ultron is the way to go. I loved that little lens and miss it dearly. I gave it up for the Sigma 35 only because of AF. I would consider going back though.

It's been on my list of places to go soon. It's not all that far for me (5 hours or so).
