Thanks Charlie

Heres the colour version. This was taken in near pitch black so the colour you are seeing is light pollution

B&W or colour??

Eddie, both are great. I prefer the black and white because it has more drama to me.

You should post either one at FM in the landscape thread. Beautiful images there. Mine don't compare to what those guys post there.

Ornate light from inside the historic Mission Concepcion in SATX. Captured with the Loxia 85.

First time visiting Mission Concepcion which is one of the San Antonio historic Missions. The church is beautiful but it was undergoing renovations. The image of the light is from inside the church.

This image of the stairs is in a room before you enter the church. Huge dynamic range in this scene. It took some time to get the sky and the highlights around it under control. Going too dark of a blue in the sky resulted in a less than natural looking image so I lightened the sky. I just love all the texture in the walls. The group that preserves these missions had to use some clamps to prevent the crack in the left wall from widening too much.

I did my first all nighter last night shooting the milky way.

After a bit of driving around and trying different location we tried to find a spot at Lake kerete. We were alonside the lake, but in the wrong position so missed getting the relection shots we were aiming for. It works out we were 300m away from where we wanted to be, but couldn't find the turn off in the dark! We will be returning :)

Sorry for quoting my own image but I forgot to mention that I lit the tree using the temp controlled light panel I bought for lighting the foreground in Astro shots. This was my first time using it and I think it will work well. It's got a colour temp of 3200 and I shoot my astro shots at 4000 kelvin so it should balance well (allows a slightly warm foreground against the cool sky). Not quite seeing the effect in this shot due to the cloud and light pollution

Darker edit of one of my milky way shots. I prefer it this way.

A bit more work in Photoshop, whereas the original was just in Lightroom.

Is that a single image or multiple, blended exposes Alfredo? Regardless, excellent final rendition.

Messing with the 70-200GM in the backyard. I've used this lens a lot for events, but don't think I ever gave it a fair shot as a portrait lens. I really like the smooth rendering of the GM lenses for portraits. Plus...really sharp wide open.

Thank you for this much appreciated tip. I need one of those. Looks like it puts out a good bit of light to light up the tree so well.

That was actually about 3/4 power. My batteries were not fully charged so I couldn't go full power (wouldn't have needed it in this instance mind you). The unit has a threaded tripod hole on the bottom so I just attached it to my table top tripod and set it up off to the left of the camera position

This is where I got the idea http://intothenightphoto.blogspot.co.uk …-panel-for-night.html?m=1 (external link)

The colour version of last nights photo has now became the most liked image in my Flickr. It's funny how that happens as it's not my favourite image

I've contacted Robert white (U.K. Voigtlander seller) and asked if they can email me a raw file taken with the cv15 before sending. I read on FM forum that they done this for someone else so hopefully they agree to it as I want the lens but want to avoid the lottery. I've offered to pay up front so will see what they say
