Glad to hear your lens is OK Eddie. I had a scare myself the other day when my tripod fell over with my a7rII + FE 90G lens on it. I had the legs shortened up to shoot low to the ground and was on large sized gravel (abt 3/4"). When the tripod fell, the hood of the lens struck the edge of my raised concrete patio.

Here's what happened to the hood...but thank goodness, the lens is OK.

BTW, here's what it will cost to replace the hood through Sony. I think I'll hold off for now...

zeiss hoods are 100+

I remember misplacing my 100MP hood, and the replacement sticker shock

I have a hood for the 100-300, it looks really expensive if I lost it.

Note to self...dont misplace or lose Zeiss hoods...

Speakinh of hoods...the 85GM hood is robust, sturdy, well attached but nearly impossible to put the lens cap back on with the hood in use.

What kind of car? I see FORD, which makes me smile. Not one they sell in the states that I'm aware of.

It's Ford Escort, Mark 1 (I believe) popular car in the UK, New Zealand and Australia

Yep, Ford Escort Mk1 1968-1975 - Mine's a '71. Preceded by the Ford Anglia, and after releasing the Mk6 Escort in the mid 90's, it was replaced by the Ford Focus crica 2000.

Checked my Loxia 21 and its still a laser so thankfully the damage is only cosmetic. Still annoying but it could have been worse. Wont be carrying lenses loose in my pocket again though!

Phew.... ;)

Just a couple of snapshots here. My dad's old bbq has seen better days and I know he owned it as far back as the seventies. When he passed away in 1993, I acquired it and just had some work done for it. Since parts are no longer available, I had a custom firebox built to replace the old, rusted out original. I also have new custom grates being made and will get them in a couple of weeks. The same person that made the custom firebox for me also replaced the legs and wheels too. A few years ago, I had the wooden shelves remade to replace the warped, cracked originals.

I'd rather spend the money to keep my dad's old grill working than buy a new one. This one has a lot of sentimental value to me and to be honest, I have never seen another that has all the features this one does.

At any rate, here's a before/after on the new firebox. I tested it out this afternoon by grilling a steak. :-)
