It makes a lot more sense to me as the ultimate wedding or photojournalism camera. I've seen virtually no mention of the camera being used for things other than sports or wildlife. Just a thought from Daniel

To be frank, Sony is probably not even close to winning over the professional and advanced amateur sports and wildlife crowd due to the lack of long glass that is even remotely affordable. I think they could win over other specialties though where their lenses stack up, and often beat, the competition. The small size is also a big advantage for everything BUT sports and wildlife. thats the thing, this is not just a sports camera.

(i'm no wildlife shooter so that just my opinion) also , speaking of wildlife ,, I haven't heard much in terms of weather sealing and anything added for durability in the harsher enviroments that shooting wildlife can often bring on . or did I miss out on a video or article somewhere ? don't forget both extenders, with 2x you got 200-800 lens, and will still autofocus on a9

KayakPhotos Goldmember More info | Apr 25, 2017 16:03 | #32348 The 100-400 is great, especially with the ability to use TC's, but it doesn't solve the problem of long and fast glass. Pro's and advanced amateurs aren't going to care too much about that option. Just a thought from Daniel

I have 4 weddings in the fall and just sold $4k worth of gear, but that camera doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for me. It’d be one thing if this were priced like the a7rII or 5DIV, but the a9 is a really expensive camera and I’d be paying a premium for features I don’t need. 20 is ridic for sure, I'de never use it, however, you can slow down the shutter from what I read, kind of like how our A7rii have high and low continuous. Apr 25, 2017 16:18 | #32350 Don't discount the LA3 adapter and the long A Mount lenses available. I think that is what Sony is counting on but it will be a tough sell for established sports shooters to switch. New sports shooters may jump on it though. - Alfredo -

This whole "who needs 20fps" argument sounds a lot like the "who needs all that dynamic range" argument. VanillaImaging.com
