Yeah

It was a 15 second exposure @f4. First 10 seconds at 24mm and the last 5 seconds I moved the zoom slowly to the 105mm to get the effect.

Worked pretty well :)

Personally, I don't see the 20fps as the only upgraded feature of that body. I'd like to think (all conjecture at this point) that the weather sealing has been upgraded: we've seen that the ergonomics have been improved (the A7 ergos are atrocious), the AF system has been greatly improved, the battery life has been significantly improved, it can now hold two memory cards, it has a stupid fast shutter speed, silent shutter action has been improved, it clears the buffer much faster (supposedly allowing instant access to the card after shooting), no EVF blackout, faster EVF refresh rate, the resolution is right in the sweet spot for event and retail portrait shooting, etc. If you don't feel that any of those things are a worthwhile upgrade over the A7 then that's your prerogative. Personally, I can easily see serious amateurs as well as professional wedding, event, and retail portrait shooters picking up this camera as a do-it-all body. If I didn't already have a body that fits that bill I'd consider it myself. If they release an A9r I may very well make the full jump to Sony.

Weddings and events being the main thing I do aside form purely personal stuff, I see most of A9 quite the opposite. There's almost nothing about the A9 that offers valuable improvements for me, except for better battery life, joystick and dual card slot. And all of these are features which are only catching up with already existing competing manufacturers.

The faster shutter speed and 20fps have practically no use for at weddings and events, because I don't spray and pray. And therefore, blackout has never been an issue. The "silent" shutter mode on my 5D3 already seems to be quite enough from what I observe. So, I don't see a case for photographer like myself to go out and buy a A9 for the price it's been asked for. There are cheaper options in the market that offer all necessary features. But there may of course be other wedding/event photogs out there who have a different approach to their craft. For me this camera is either a sports/wildlife/professional photojournalism camera (and I can see how it's going to make a killing in that segment), or simply a spray and pray camera.

All this said, I do seem to be a loner in not being excited at all about the A9. So Sony's clearly doing something right. And I'm actually thinking more and more about ditching Sony completely. The only question is then whether I should go fully back to Canon (5DIV + 5Ds), or wait for Fujifilm GFX to come down in price and jump to medium format, because I think this where the interesting innovation is happening.

Yongnuo is one of my sponsors, so I don't pay anything for the lens.

Here it is, I am super impressed. They have managed to nail the build quality and USM! two things that were missing from their early clones.

Adorama and B&H have it on Pre-order for $160-200

I've been talking to them to create lenses from scratch. Since I have some ideas that Canon and Nikon dont currently offer.

A lot of people dont know this but Canon got started the same way. Their first cameras were Leica clones(with Nikon lenses). Later they ended up creating their own cameras that were just as good. I'm hoping Yongnnuo will be the same some day.

Why the price difference between Adorama and B&H? Anyway I can't wait to see yours pictures with this lens.

build quality looks decent, I know a lot of people don't like them because they call them copy cats etc...

doesn't bother me, as long as it performs well enough for the price, and like you said Canon started the same way. Quite a few companies had humble beginnings.

how did you get them to sponsor you?

Awesome! You know I really love your normal portraits, but i really love this type of stuff as well. Great job with the compositing. Did you watch any tutorials or people on youtube to learn how to do this. Would love some advice as I'm trying to learn stuff like this in my spare time. I know my way around photoshop but need practice on some shadowing, etc type of stuff. Love how you simulated the backlighting.

I really wish Sony would some more firmware updates on a7rii...

I still want them to change the center button on d-pad to enable toggle AF points movement and or button functions like on a6300/6500.

Hey Nadim, what have you been up to?

Been super busy at work this past few months. Haven't really had the time or inspiration to go out shooting. Nice to see you all are still going strong!

Saw the news about the a9. Aside from that I haven't really followed the latest all that much.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

i think that's what i have in mine. press the center button once and use the shutterspeed and aperture wheel to move the AF points around.
