I rarely do 'tilt' but the road wasn't level to the background - This hid it a bit :)

Any of you guys been to arches national park to shoot? I really want to go there, it looks like landscaper heaven

Moab's been on my wishlist for years.

Don't forget the insanely awesome nearby Deadhorse State Park. Tom Cruise was hanging off the cliff in one of his Mission Impossible movies (2, I think). Also where Thelma and Louise famously drove off the cliff. https://stateparks.utah.gov/parks/dead-horse/ (external link)

Anyone looking for a Loxia? I am going to switch to the zoom for a little bit more versatility. I'm going to list it, but thought I would put feelers out here first.

I would dearly dearly love one, but just don't have the bucks for it. I've been spending all my money on landscaping this year.

If I get one it's going to be the 35mm...that's the only hole in my lens lineup. If you've got one, then let me know and I'll think about doing something desperate and risky, like robbing a bank or selling a little "crystal blue persuasion" to help me buy it. :p

I don't have the 35. I wouldn't mind having one at some point though. The FE28 gets the job done for me at the moment.

Heck yes! I had a nice run of 4 years in a row making it out to Utah and I always stopped for Moab for a couple days. I will say that Moab has become quite the zoo over the last few years as it has exploded since my first trip there in 2011. Arches gets a lot of attention but Canyonlands is also right outside of Moab and is an absolute gem. There is a ton to do in the general MOAB area but again, the crowds will be pretty thick, especially at Arches. Last time I went (July 2016) I visited delicate arch at night (midnight) for a milkyway shoot and there was no less than 150 people there, many were photographers. I understand that this is one of the premiere places in Arches NP but its a couple mile hike back there and I was shocked there were so many people. Mesa arch in Canyonlands is the same (Island of the Sky district of the park). With that being said, there is a ton to see in the area and if you are a landscape person and haven't made it to Moab (or Utah in general) then you are missing out...This is coming from someone who lives 1.5 hours from Yosemite!

What part of Canyonlands? Needles or the Maze i'm assuming. The Island in the Sky section of Canyonlands is actually about 15 minutes NORTH of MOAB, but the other areas of the park must be accessed from the southern entrances.

Hey, you are still searching for the perfect backpack? Well, my hunt for a backpack has come to an end with the PDEB20L (at least for the time being..). I really like how it looks and even functionally works well for me. I have downsized all my gear, so most or all of my gear now fit into this sleek 20L bag.

I'm thinking about it. Looking for a carry around option for my a6500 that just came in with 2-3 lenses. But for room to grow in terms of more gear later down the line. After trying multiple messenger, sling, etc, I realize for me a backpack makes the most sense. I might go back to a Mindshift Rotation Panorama or try out the Everyday Backpack 20L.

if you're looking for something that flips to the front for easy access, the lowepro flipsides will do that. I mean, that's the big thing with the mindshift right? When not wanting to look like a total dork, I'll wear my older flipsides.

Agreed. And if you don't want to swing the whole bag all the way around you could go with the fastpack.

I think he's referencing the Peak Design Everyday Backpack 20 Liter.

Yup, been to S Utah many times. Mostly mountain biking. The whole area is otherworldly! You should plan a moth to visit the American west.
