Can you give me an ISO 800 to 8000 around golden hour when you have time or chance? I usually shoot at golden hours+natural light in my portrait that's why I'm asking. you can dropbox it to vinmunoz@yahoo.com. thank you.

wow, i really need to sell stuff to finally order this beast.

when do you guys think is the next wave of shipments. it's now all back to backorder on all three store where i usually buy my gear(Adorama, BH and Amazon).

Vinz, try Texas Media Systems out of Austin. They have a shipment coming next week. I'm on the waiting list. I think #5. I've never ordered from them but they have a good reputation.

Gear Menu 1, 4th line: Grid Line. Choose from Rule of 3rds, square (my choice), diag. + square grid (shown on Mystic's camera), and off.

I almost depleted a fully charged battery just from fiddling with the menus on the first night - mostly trying out various function menu and custom key settings (found on Gear Menu 7) to see what setting combinations would be most conducive to my camera operating habits.

Wow. When light is good there is no problem to stop down and get higher SS and just bump iso to 5000. looks very clean. Very tempted to just sell allmy cameras for that beast hahaha

Very clean for iso 5000. I'll probably never have the need to go that high but it's good to know I can if I need to.

thanks for the video. that eye focus could be useful also of shots on a model walking.

I got a call from a rep at Crutchfield that my order will ship on or before the 17th. My B&H order still shows On Order. Actually got 10,000 points through my CC for ordering through Crutchfield which will be another $100 cash back. Not that much, but every bit helps!

So here's something interesting. After seeing Carlo's eye tracking video, I thought I'd see how that works on the A7II. The feature is there in the menu (eye start AF). It's greyed out and I get a "invalid lens" message with my only native lens the FE 24-70/4. Anyone know why that is? Isn't the a7ii supposed to have that functionality?
Anyone else here with the a7ii use that before?

So eye start AF is a feature that starts the autofocus process as soon as you bring your eye up to the viewfinder....it only works with adapted a mount lenses. (I think the automatic pre-focus feature is what's used in lieu of this with E mount lenses).

The feature I was using is eye-focus. It works on the a7II, however, only in AF-S mode. It's still a very useful feature on the a7II if you have a static subject.
