looks good to me. Just the balance of the black border bothers me lol. They are not even especially the left and the right.

Thanks. It only looks uneven because of the shadow on the right side. I've decided it looks better without a frame anyway.

Here's a tutorial I just created. I hope you'll like it. It's about using the liquify tool. I fixed the little girl's shirt using liquify tool. The 2nd image is removing a double chin using liquify tool.

I have here a before and after.

had an opportunity to get an used Batis25mm for 800€, but missed it damnit.
maybe that's a sign that I need 35mm or there will be new one soon just like Eddie waiting for 35mm f/2.0
will stick with FE28mm till mid summer

Interesting that it will focus Canon lenses faster than on Canon cameras....but I wonder if they managed to overcome the other issues with adapted lenses...poor low light performance, random crashes, etc. I'd like to see some real world feedback on how the a9 does with adapted lesnes.

Also interesting that it will have the same high iso performance as the A7s....makes sense though since that new stacked BSI sensor should have less read-noise than the a7s sensor.

to tell you the truth I don't believe the one about the same iso performance of the a7s. maybe jpgs I see that happening. although still new and not a lot of expert and comprehensive testing have been done, some of the people who have had the chance to test this before everyone else say that the high iso performance is still below the a7s series.

at this point in time I will give more weight to those pros who have had the chance to play with the camera versus the marketing guy. I would love this camera to have the same high iso capability but the realist in me sort of says it might not be true. I am still waiting for what a7s3 will be like

Tony Northrup has a video out showing a bunch of pictures comparing it to the A7Rii in the dark areas with exposure / shadows raised and the A7Rii is better - my guess is by about 1/2 a stop. It definitely seems that when you design for speed off the chip, you have to give up something.

Please forgive my posting a non- Sony image here but I hope you'll understand my excitement about this photograph.

Very recently, I was contacted by a 2nd cousin I never knew of before through ancestry.com. Her grandfather was my grandfather's brother. She was able to verify a photograph I had from another person was indeed my great grandfather. This is the first time I've ever known what he looked like.

So, I wanted to share my edit of that photograph and ask if you have any comments about the edit, I'd appreciate hearing it.

This is counter-intuitive given that the a9 has a lower resolution sensor that it is a stacked sensor to boot. BUT if I had to guess, I'm betting that the dual conversion gain that is done on the a7RII and a7s is not happening on the a9. That dual conversion gain lends a lot to the low light performance of those cameras, but the file sizes get noticeably larger at high iso. Probably not ideal for a body that prioritizes speed. All the more reason why a true wedding/event body is needed in lieu of the a9.

On SAR today there was mention of a disabled 8k video option baked into the menu of the a9, though 8k isn't possible on a 24mp sensor. This points to that menu being made to accommodate a higher resolution body sometime in the near future.
