On the a6500, this would be the equivalent FOV, DOF, and noise to a FF 35-50mm f2.8 ,which sounds limiting, but would be a useful focal range for documentary photography, particularly when my main cam will be the a7rII, which I can use to cover the 70-200 range if I need reach. I can also flip roles and use the 24-35 on the a7rII if I find that I'm primarily shooting wide, and use the a6500 + 85GM (135 f2 equivalent) as a back-up to shoot long. Realistically the a6500 does a lot of what the a9 does (12 fps, high density tracking AF, big buffer, zero blackout EVF), at 1/3 of the price....the big difference of course is the crop factor, which is where glass like the 24-35 F2 bridges the gap. The times I do need high burst rates and really good tracking is basically outdoors in good light, so the sensor size disparity isn't much of an issue given the intended uses. Any thoughts from the a6500 guys? The big clincher of course is how well that 24-35 F2 works via the MC-11. In my limited use inside a poorly lit camera store, it seemed to be adequate, but I'll need to rent one to try it out. the a6500 is not blackout free.

Lets see what the price is going to be on this one. I have only shot that FL a little bit, and like it...50mm was always my go to, but sometimes I find it just a bit too long, so 35 seems like it would be a great fit. Website
