I really enjoy my a6500...

my top complaints would be , crappy rear screen... pretty difficult if not useless in bright outdoor lights

and to me it just needs one more dial, so that ISO , SS and aperture can each have a dedicated dial
when I go back and forth between a7sii and a6500 , it can get frustrating

So far I found that Sunny Weather when shooting stills works ok for me. It's when shooting video and the screen goes super dim that you're basically shooting in the dark.

I also somewhat wish there was a fully articulating screen in one of these bodies. I'm getting too used to shooting with the rear screen and when shooting low of my kids the fully articulated screen works out well (or even the screen like the X-T2).

anyone else still using capture one? The more I use it, the better it gets. I havent figured out how to do a radial filter other than invert mask?

the layers vs lightrooms brushes..... capture one by a LARGE margin, it's so good and neat. zoom in zoom out just seems so much faster to make fine adjustments. I'm no where near the level I am in lightroom but holy hell, this software is so good, it can round trip fine, the recipes are fantastic for my workflow. I'm really glad to give this software a chance. Some more figuring out for sure, but discovering and being surprised by its features every time I use it.

A couple of notable features I found while digging through the a6500 menu....

AWB has different modes...ambient, and white. For those who dislike the WB and SOOC colors of the older Sony cameras, I wonder if these settings will yield an improvement.

There are a number of different metering modes....most notably a highlight mode, which presumably will automatically expose for the highlights/ETTR. There's also an option to spot meter to the AF point.

More messing with the a6500, this time with the 70-200GM....excuse the expression on his face, he had no idea a camera was pointed at him.

But in good light the GM lenses really seem to shine on the a6500 due to the crop factor. Sharp because the image is concentrated around the sharpest parts of the lens.....plus bokeh!

well heres the link

Under "more commands and tools" there's an option to embed a video. Paste the youtube link in there.

I went ahead and watched it. Really cool, and I'm digging the music. Is that Nujabes?

Sauvignon Blanc

Still working on my lighting. I'm only using two flashes since the 3rd one I ordered was not delivered today as expected. ⚓ A reflector was used to help light the center of the bottle.

Thanks Carlo. I used a strip softbox on the left (bottle right) that I just got today and my 24" square softbox on the opposite side. I had a black cloth hung from a picture frame as the background and a black foam core board as the 'stage'. I'll probably get a 2nd stip box so that I can match both sides on my subject. I was supposed to have 3rd flash delivered today but it didn't arrive so hopefully, I'll have it by Monday.

For this shot, as I did on the Bacardi 151 bottle, I placed a piece of stiff gold foil paper that was glued to a square of styrofoam and shaped like the bottle behind the bottle to reflect light back through the glass.

I wouldn't mind doing that Vinz once I get my 3rd flash and 2nd strip box. Now that I know this strip box will work as expected, I'll order the 2nd one either tomorrow or Monday.
