but maybe the EVF consume less power, don't you think? just curious. i also use PD Capture Pro and there wrist strap.

Power consumption between the two is similar apparently. Someone on.FM tested it and posted the values. Airplane mode doesn't save any power at all either. The reason being with wifi on it doesn't use any power unless its connected and in use, it doesn't search like a mobile phone

I have never done it either but basically you cover all the internals of your adaptor with flock paper (think of the furry stuff on the inside of lens hoods). I bought this material here - http://www.firstlightoptics.com …pe-flocking-material.html (external link) - and plan on just cutting it to shape to cover all the shiny plastic bits on the inside of the adaptor. Heres an image I found online of somebodys metabones that they flocked - http://starvingphotographer.com …ads/2014/02/Figure-13.jpg (external link)

That is great thanks! Would have thought for Metabones prices they could have supplied it flocked :o

Apparently the latest version is flocked. I'd still rather flock a cheap adaptor myself though personally

Yeh for now I will, if I ever upgrade to the A7RmkII maybe the Metabones will offer better AF compatibility (by which time I am sure other adapters will be updated).

Would prefer a native FE mount 18-21mm prime from Zeiss, but they seem to be more interested in the 28-55mm market. Would love to try the Batis 25mm but I am sure it would not be wide enough as I find the 28mm a little limiting. Nice as a walk around lens though.

I've never tried a metabones so can't comment on that but on my a7rii the 35 IS focusses as fast as it does on my 5DIII with the viltrox II

do you guys always remove the SD card when transferring files to computer or you use the cable?

I thought removing the SD card and opening the SD card door all the time will wear them down over time. thoughts?

I remove it. Done so for all my cameras and never had a wear issue

I take the cards out for all my cameras. No issue whatsoever re: door wear. I do, however, format cards in-camera as opposed to elsewhere, and I usually format twice when I do so.

By the way, what's a good SD card reader for MacPro (tower, not the laptop)? I'm beginning to experience issues with my current cheapo reader that works on USB3.

Always plug camera in with the cable. Always have with no issues :) The memory card hasn't been out the Sony since I bought it and the card has been in the 5D2 un-removed since about 2011 ;)

My flock paper arrived so will be attempting to flock my adaptor later tonight. Wanted it sorted before I go on holiday on saturday.

Bad news though with my CV15. The website said in stock and I phoned today to make sure it was posted and they said they were waiting on stock due to high demand so wont have it for my holiday :(
