do you guys always remove the SD card when transferring files to computer or you use the cable?

I thought removing the SD card and opening the SD card door all the time will wear them down over time. thoughts?

I always remove the SD card and stick it into my USB3 Card Reader (Kingston MobileLite G4 (external link)) which on its turn goes into a USB port on my PC.

xpfloyd wrote in post #17692452 (external link)
I remove it. Done so for all my cameras and never had a wear issue

Same here.

StudioAbe wrote in post #17692514 (external link)
I take the cards out for all my cameras. No issue whatsoever re: door wear. I do, however, format cards in-camera as opposed to elsewhere, and I usually format twice when I do so.

By the way, what's a good SD card reader for MacPro (tower, not the laptop)? I'm beginning to experience issues with my current cheapo reader that works on USB3.

I use a Kingston MobileLite G4 (external link) on my PC. I'm pretty sure it will also work on Mac since it doesn't need any drivers. This one from SanDisk (external link) also looks nice.

Her forehead looks too flatly lit to me in the edit. The specular highlight on her nose and cheekbones point to a light source camera left, but the lighting of her forehead is inconsistent with that. On point with the correction of the texture on her forehead, but the color correction should probably be toned down. Other than that, I wouldn't say its overdone, and that the skin softening was done very tastefully.

thank you Carlo.

No problem. I've actually been paying more attention to lighting and PP techniques thanks to the advice and examples that you, Gene, and others have been providing here :-)

That's my adaptor flocked. Was an easy process in the end and only took about 20 mins. The material I got is identical looking to the flocking that's on the rear opening of the tse lens so hopefully this will solve all my reflection issues. Will be putting it through its paces this coming week

This might be a silly question but is the sony mount version of the samyang/rokinon 24 f/1.4 going to be the same size as a Canon version with an adaptor attached?

I would believe so, otherwise lenses would be much more expensive having to develop new lens combinations/types to work at different sensor/back element distances for each camera manufacturer...but I may be wrong :|?

I honestly wouldnt even consider the sony mount. With the canon mount, you can use the ND throttle if you ever intend to filter the 14. Rear mount filter works incredibly well, not susceptible to enhanced vignetting of a front mount filter.

Good point charlie, hadn't even considered the nd throttle. Was also thinking it would be easier to sell a canon mount if I ever sold it. Been wanting the 24mm for a while for astro/night photography mainly. Need to test out the a7rii on a clear night though before I make the leap

Cheapest I could find in the uk was £500 delivered (its the same price everywhere pretty much). I got the adaptor from amazon for £12. Its by k&f concept and gets good reviews. The adaptor has arrived, it feels well made and first the camera nicely. Lens hasn't arrived yet though

Yes. Exactly.

It's a lens I've toyed with the idea of acquiring, but in the end, since I still own the Canon 6D, I would probably get the EF version and stick an adapter on it.

The colors are really nice with this one! Very nice. Used an ND filter?
