Try to get closer with your feet. Still not enough zoom? Crop in post. Also, sometimes you'll just miss a shot for whatever reason. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Just remember that the world doesn't end if you miss a shot or a shot doesn't turn out the way you wanted it to. Keep that in mind and you'll be fine. ![]() I sometimes overdo it too when traveling, but there is something oddly "liberating" about grabbing a single prime lens and limiting your shooting to the one lens. I wouldn't do a whole trip like that, but for a photo outing I frequently do. Every so often a scenario arises where I'll wish I had a different lens at hand, but I quickly forget those things. Meanwhile limiting oneself to a single lens does something to stretch the creativity. A limiting factor of some sort, like using a single prime lens, can (and really should) enhance creativity. navydoc Cream of the Crop More info | Sep 03, 2015 07:34 | #4798 I remember a time not too long ago that many of us here said that using the Sony A7x series camera put the fun back in photography for them because it gave them a small, light setup that was easy to take along. Oh how soon we forget. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||

(3 edits in all) | Sep 03, 2015 07:40 | #4799 I own zooms but don't prefer them...but I'm a big proponent of zooms for travel. Cropping in post and zooming with your feet isn't the same as changing focal lengths, as the FOV is very different between focal lengths...which is why zooms go a long way. focalpointsphoto.com
