Oh how soon we forget. ![]() That's where I'm at (hopefully for good). TSE 24 II for landscapes and not a lens I carry everywhere. Then my carry everywhere kit of CV15, fe28, fe55, batis85(when in stock). Normally I stick to a 3 lens walkaround kit but have allowed myself to go to 4 with the sony due the weight and size savings I'm making. Only thing I can see me changing is the fe28 for the batis25 at one point down the line Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

navydoc Cream of the Crop More info | Sep 03, 2015 08:39 | #4803 ^^ Nice job Vinz. One thing I've tried to soften the effects of the extreme sharpness of the FE 90 lens is to add a diffusion effect like I did on this portrait: I did that by duplicating the image layer, adding a gaussian blur and changing it's blend mode to 'screen'. Then it was tweaked by reducing opacity and using an adjustment layer to further refine. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||

DavidArbogast Cream of the Crop More info | Sep 03, 2015 08:46 | #4807 It is not light - quite heavy in fact - but my Otus 55mm remains my absolute favorite lens to limit myself to. That thing is so special, has such amazing performance, works so well with my a7R, that it serves as a confidence booster. If I could I would recommend every dedicated photographer to acquire one truly special and exceptional lens (for each person's unique needs and vision). For my part, I don't need every one of my lenses to be amazing so long as I have one that is. David | Flickr

I pretty much never carry around the rok14, 24-70, or 70-400 for instance, but those are my landscape lenses. I would carry the 11-24 in a heartbeat for that occasion as well. Crop in post. Also, sometimes you'll just miss a shot for whatever reason. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Just remember that the world doesn't end if you miss a shot or a shot doesn't turn out the way you wanted it to. Keep that in mind and you'll be fine. ![]() Sounds to me like this same logic could be applied to your endless search for the perfect camera to upgrade to Fuji X-T3 // Fuji X-Pro2 (Full Spectrum) // Fuji X-H1 // Fuji X-T1

There is no perfect camera, but I won't upgrade to a camera which has a deal-breaker. You don't want a camera with mediocre/bad high ISO performance and that's perfectly fine. I just don't want compression artifacts. Different people, different values. And thank God for that, otherwise there would only be one camera on the market. I'll just be creative and keep using my 550D for now. Besides, since the beginning of this year the stray cat hasn't shown up anymore. About half of my pictures were of him. I think I haven't even taken 100 pictures since the beginning of this year, so getting a new camera is really at the bottom of my priority list. A new camera is rather a "want" than a "need" here. Luckily I'm pretty good at fighting GAS. 550D | EF-S 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 IS | EF 50mm F/1.8 II | EF 70-200mm F/4L IS | Speedlite 580EX II | LumoPro LP180 | Gitzo GT3541XLS | Arca-Swiss Monoball Z1 SP | ONA Bowery (black, non-leather)

Vinz, one difference of using a diffusing technique is that soft, glowing skin look. While it's not something you'd want to do all the time, I think it can add to the mood of an image occasionally.
