On the CV15 i have it on the A7rII.... focus is smooth it just does not appear to play well with focus peaking. I will have more time to play with it tomorrow and determine further.

I don't intend on focussing mine at all. I'm going to work out where I need to set my focus ring when set to f/5.6 for front to back focus and leave it there. That's what I done when I had the rokinon 14. The dof is so big on uwa you can basically set it once and go.

I don't trust focus peaking for anything. It always shows peaking then you magnify and its not focussed. Same thing when I had the a7r and a7ii. I don't know why so many people say peaking makes it easy

Couple more shots from later in the day. Gulf winds are colliding with northern winds as the weather starts to change. Went back and forth from pleasant to horridly humid, but the sky did some interesting things.

Anyone owns the FE28-70 kit lens? Is it good? Might be good for wedding receptions since i'm at f5.6 anyway with flash.

I had it and thought it was decent, until I got the 24-70. The 24-70 is a better lens by far, both in terms of center sharpness and corner performance. I'm comfortable shooting at f/4 but I prefer to shoot at f/5.6 or f/8. If you're going to be doing any type of extensive shooting, the 24-70 is a better buy. For a casual walk around or once in a while shot, then I guess the 28-70 could suffice, just I wouldn't be satisfied with it myself.

I think i screwed up my A6000s EVF sensor. I hated the eyecup getting off all the time. I lost 2 already so i asked the guys in the A6k fb group what they did to keep the eyecup stay. Majority of them superglued it so i tried to. I messup and maybe covered the sensor with glue. Now it's either EVF only or monitor only. Auto still function but due the glue, it autos to EVF only.

Any idea how to removed the glue. Yah i know i'm stupid. :(

you probably reseated the eye cover wrong or covered the proximity sensor with glue. I'm guessing if you clear the obstruction, you will be good again.

A product called "goof off" can do wonders without damage but I would try a little wipe on the bottom of the camera to make sure it wont discolor the plastic first.

Yah I have replaced 2 cups as well..... based on your experience I will just keep buying cups. Sorry Man

Love the shallow DOF in that last shot especially Carlo.

Looks like I need to run out and find a butterfly ;)
Anyway, still using the 70-400g2 and think it is a winner.

Awesome! Are you using an LA-EA3 or 4? How's the AF?

Not that you all would remember but I got hummingbird in flight not too long ago, it was actually harder finding one on a natural perch. This one high up top in a pear tree so a humongous crop and again enjoying the sharpness at 400mm-

On this second one my intent was not to freeze the wing but 1/8000 did an ok job at it-

Thanks Mystik.
I absolutely love the AF of the LAEA3+70-400g2 combo.
It's not perfect say compared to a 70-400g2 on an A77ii
but it is very very fast moving from target to target in a 5-6 depth zone.
It is also reasonable fast going near to far/far to near occasionally taking
maybe 1/3 or 1/2 second to cover the ground so-to-speak. Compared to
the 7Dii + 100-400ii which is instant moving that same
40-60 feet, seriously instant, then you'd notice
the difference with the Sony combo.

I'm not complaining at all since my EOS 100-400ii didn't do great
with the Metabones IV, it was ok in the middle of the focal length
but no where I needed it-at 400mm. It would have been nice if it
had worked like some of the other Canons which act native-maybe
someday :)

I just put a digital camo LensCoat on the 70-400g2 and she looks mighty
proud now and that reminds me of my only true complaint...for almost
2k (I think that's close, don't remember exactly) it really should be
weather sealed.

My buddy from where I used to work came by for lunch today. My 2nd flash comes in next week and I'm looking forward to using a two light setup.
