I'll get to posting pics from my trip once I'm done processing. But here's some thoughts I had after 2 days rocking both the A7ii kit and the Canon kit together.

1) I'm leaning towards doing away with MF for anything but very controlled situations. Trying to MF on the fly, in a walk around setup, on vacation is a pain. Too many missed moments and blurry shots.

2) primes. Same story. Swapping lenses on a walkabout is no fun. Plus it means carrying 4-5 lenses at all times. From now on, for vacation, zooms all the way.

3) I shot the San Diego skyline at night with both 6D and A7ii and was surprised to discover the noise from long exposures 10-20 seconds) at ISO100 is nicer and more pleasing from the 6D than the Sony.

4) I'm starting to lean towards focusing more on the Canon (maybe upgrade from the 6D to the 5DS?) and sell off some of the less used manual A7II lenses (namely the CV 15 and the CV 40, both of which require a bit more extra PP work than I am usually willing to deal with in terms of vignetting and color cast).

5) I'm sort of thinking I'll keep the A7II for the time being as a "smaller and lighter" option, but I'd have to pair it up with something like the FE 35/2.8 (I've decided I want AF for walk-around purposes, see above). Maybe more FE glass down the road, or maybe the Sony goes away entirely. That I'm not sure of.

We shall see...

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

Why yes, you can do sports with the a7RII, MBIV and Sigma 120-300mm Sports lens.

This is my new 7" reflector with barn doors I got the other day. It also includes a 30° grid, a 'sock' and color gels. This will be for my 2nd light or when I want a little harder light. I used this modifier to create the diagonal strip of light in the shots of the Dragon Fruit I took earlier.

I bought this kit and the bracket at Cheetahstand.com

It was more hit than miss. If there were a bunch of runners together running toward me, it sometimes would not settle where I wanted it, but it caught enough, the majority of the time, that had I been working for publication I would have been able to do a nice layout--of course few pubs offer that much room these days.

In fact, if AF did screw up it was almost always when my granddaughter was in the frame.

Hi guys, on a mini vacation in Arkansas visiting family. I spent the night in Dallas and got some nice skyline shots of downtown from the 20th floor of our hotel. Anyway, I was taking a closer look at my shots and noticed spots that appear to be from the window I was shooting through. Any good way to remove them in Photoshop? They look like dust spots. Most are visible if I zoom in. A bit disappointed. I hope I can salvage the shots.

have you fix this? i was busy for the last 3 days. yesterday was my son's 14th BD and we had a party.

if not maybe you could send it to me. i will try to fix it.
