So it seems my FE35/2.8 has a decentering problem (left side is soft compared to right side). Bought it 2nd hand and is no longer in guarantee. Anyone know how Sony would handle this and if I can get this fixed without paying as much as I did for it 2nd hand? Center is tack sharp, but it's pretty annoying when using it for landscape/architecture (it's not only wide open)

thread moves so fast. anyone?

Since I typically price my for sale items at the same price others are selling for, I feel I can re-buy without loss. Did that with my Zeiss Apo Sonnar 2/135mm.

Metabones has just released a new firmware version for the Metabones IV smart adapter.

I'm interested because it may add AF support to my EF 85 f1.8 lens.

I thought it interesting that they did not list Version II of the EF 100-400. I just upgraded the metabones to .43 and took my 100-400 out for a test. While it will focus between 300-400mm, it is very slow. Even if I got the lens close to focus at 400, it took at least 1 second to AF. Setting the lens AF switch from 3M-infinity or full range made no difference.

MB .43 hmmmm, everything is packed for Wayah Bald. Not enough time to drag it out of the car.
Looking forward to breathing life into the 135L. That one and the SigART35 are two I wanted to work.
I'm not worried about the long lenses now I'm covered with the 70400g2 and the 150-600 Tam. but I
woudn't mind at all if they ever get the 100-400ii tuned in.

a7RII, Metabones IV vers. .43, Canon 400mm IS DO and Canon TC 1.4X III.
First shot at 400mm, second at 560mm. PDAF worked, but best using selective AF point or center AF point.
Once in a zone, virtually instantaneous refocus. Three seconds from completely out of focus.
In dark areas PDAF was less successful, otherwise CDAF worked but more slowly.

Some things are more difficult to choose focus on, but a detail of where the focus hit is illuminating. Some editing was employed.

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

I don't think so and for now, I'm the only one here so I can't check

if you have a portrait on your wall, it can actually eye focus there. i tried it with our family portrait canvass.

hooray now i can buy a 135L again. my favorite lens when i was on canon.

Good point. Face recognition works but I get the "invalid lens" message when I press the set button to activate auto eye AF. I'm still happy with the AF at f1.8 for my head shot.

Can someone test the canon 70-200 II with the updated adapter? I'm at work so I can't test. Can't really work either since I'm excited about the firmware update.

HA! I know right?

So jazzed to hear about this news. I'd adjusted to MF'ing the 135 - it's just too good a lens to put aside because of AF. But this is fantastic news.

Really want to test out the 70-200ii zoomed all the way to 200mm. That's the only weak spot left if the 135 works.
