I agree 100%. My earlier point was about how I seem to have lost sight of trying to document those everyday moments in ways that are a bit more aesthetically pleasing. Taking pics of your kid to document family moments is different and well worth the effort.
What I found while looking through my vacation pics is what I call tourist syndrome.
You see them all the time in tourist spots. They get out of their car, rush to the item of interest, snap 5 or 10 shots without any thought for composition, then get back in the car and move on to the next stop.
I seem to have inadvertently fallen into that lately.

Hah well most of them aren't serious photographers and are merely interested in shooting something for the sake of doing so. It often takes time and effort to shoot something appropriately...unfortunately when traveling its hard to balance taking time to shoot with actually taking in the sights yourself....especially when you have your spouse and/or kids in tow.

Most of our trips these days involve trips to Disney Parks. It gets harder and harder to shoot something I haven't shot before there lol. Disney parks have to be the most photographed locations in the world, yet in the Disney Parks thread here on POTN (Baan is a regular there) and its pretty amazing how people can continually find creative ways to photograph the parks.

I've used my friend's 6D and it's only 1 stop better than my A7. If they improved the Mark II they should be even.

I was looking into a 6D or a A7, so glad I got a deal on the Sony.

Lucked out at the thrift store. Minolta AF 50mm 1.7.

Does anyone know which adapter I need to retain Autofocus? Thanks!

my friend tells me the minolta stuff is a real bargain. I happen to have the beercan, but havent shot it much since it's an F4 lens.

Thank you! I have a minolta friend as well but he only likes the manual stuff. Works out for me since I don't have to compete with him at the stores haha

I still have the 6D and the A7Rii.

To be honest, I have not noticed a whole lot of difference between the two at high ISO. Then again, I tend to shoot a lot at ISO 100 or 200 and very rarely go above 6400.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

I had a 6D and went to the A7II. I would say it's pretty comparable. I think the 6D was a lot better of minimizing the noise below 3200 or so, but the Sony cleans up well. Above that, they are pretty on par from what I have seen so far.

Looks good, Chad!

We're going on a walking + food tour down in San Francisco tomorrow. I hope to get a few worthy food shots with my FE 28/2. Afterward the foodie thing, I want to get over to Clarion Alley and shoot some of the infamous graffiti there. Should be a fun day.

Have you guys seen this site where they compare lenses?

Slick interface. First heard about it today from Tony and Chelsea. She's damn cute by the way.
