Thanks so much Gene!! I hope this premature-retirement plan works out. Next 6-7 years will be tight. But, if it all works out it will mean that I only had to work full-time for 27 years. Mainly I hope I can generate just enough sales from my photography to pay my travel expenses as I travel around Georgia capturing the imagery there.

I need to come up with a cool business name. I need ideas. "David Arbogast Photography" is lame and horrible. Need something that speaks to Georgia or the Southeast region.

D.A.M. photography.

Maybe something like "Highfalutin' Fotography" ;-)a

Good luck, David, I'm sure it will all work out for you.

Haha...That name sucks for my new Georgia-focused photography business! :p

Thanks much for the well-wishes; really appreciate it!

I do like that Vin but ive always thought it best to avoid misspellings so that people can find your site easier i.e. people hearing that site name and then searching for georgeousphoto.com. How true that is im not sure though and I always see it done so its maybe a non issue

EDIT - I do like the sound of Darbo Photography

Misspelled words in business names is a huge pet peeve of mine. Frustratingly it is all too common practice here in the US. Still I give Vin major points for working Georgia into the name. I would prefer a business name that speaks to the product more than to the author (me). I have been thinking of something like "Georgia Visions" or "Visions of Georgia" but I fear it might sound corny. On the other hand I'll probably think everything sounds corny until I really get settled with it.

Towards Gene's idea another idea is "Camp Arbo Photography." I have used "Camp Arbo" for years as a sort of self-branding - for instance my personal email address is CampArbo@yahoo.com. This has some appeal as it even speaks to our love of camping, and as a matter of fact camping throughout Georgia will be our primary lodging as we make our photographic journey through the state.

I'm late to the game on David's Wacom/retirement thread but a couple of things (with apologies in advance to items already covered):
1. Vinz, there are some sensor dust on the logo you created. :-D

2 Wacom: I've been using Intuos 4 Medium for the last 6 years and it is an indispensable tool especially when using Photoshop (and for a while, Plants vs. Zombies). There are Cintiqs at the art department of the school my daughter attends that was funded by the foundation I was part of until last June. I had a test drive number of times and each time I felt that I could keep my eye on the screen and still 'draw blind', much like touch typing. If anything, I'd prefer investing in a high quality monitor and leave the tablet as a simple input device. Sizewise, medium works fine but sometimes I wonder if small might work better. David, you've noted about the distance one has to cover to draw on a larger tablet and I do agree. If precision is required, zooming in with smaller pen stroke could just be as precise (not to mention less awkward) than having to make one's hand travel all across a large tablet surface.

3. Happy retirement!

If it's in focus, it's pornography, if it's out of focus, it's art.
