I'm tempted to buy a Pentax 135mm F2.5. Anyone tried that lens?

Are all M42 mount screw on?

I belive they are all screw mount.u can get a adapter for the a7 line up easy though. I have a apex lens in m42 mount got a screw adapter on amazon cheap. I only have one Pentax lens and it's pretty decent. About the same as my Minolta . Good solid build to them

there are many minolta 135's! you may hit a gem or a dud.

do a google translate on this: http://artaphot.ch …ive/171-minolta-135mm-f28 (external link)

basically you want the 4 element version. I think genesimmons posted a photo of one a few pages back. It's like an L lens, uses high quality low dispersion glass.

the focus grip has 6 rows of squares, which is unique to other minolta's.

Thanks. I'm asking for more pics before I possibly meet so I can double check which it is.

if u buy it and don't like it i will take it from u and pay for shipping and ur time,i would like a spare 135,i like that focal length

I'll keep that in mind. May be enough to at least give it a try.

There are a few versions of that lens, I know at least one of them is very highly regarded, but I don't remember which one. They also came in two mounts, M42 and PK (Pentax K).

They're available in both M42 (screw type) mount and K (bayonet type) mount.

Pentax lenses are pretty highly regarded, unfortunately though they have this strange hype built up around them which generally makes them cost more than equivalent MD, FD or C/Y lenses in my experience (even though those are often as good or better).

lots there over the last several months.
