Dec 20, 2015 05:01 | #10699 navydoc wrote in post #17825007 I bought this "L" bracket from ebay on the 4th of Dec. for $11.65 and it arrived today. For the money, so far I'm very happy with it. The space is a little tight to open the battery door but works fine and it looks like the side bracket may need to come off to access a couple of the side doors on the camera; something I will rarely, if ever, need to do. Here's a link to the "L" bracket and a couple of shots I took of it. My apologies for posting images not taken with my Sony a7rII but rather of my Sony a7rII with the only other camera I have at the moment. http://www.ebay.com/itm/391113305859 ![]() ![]() ![]() navydoc wrote in post #17825230 The fit and finish of this "L" bracket is excellent. I like the fact that the mounting screw to the camera is recessed below the height of the lower plate so that the camera rests flat when placed on a table for example. ![]() I think i ordered the same one but it hasmt arrived yet... Looks pretty good thought! Sony A7RII | Sony A7S

I have a bracket very similar to that, for the first series from ishoot...I don't need it after getting the RRS bracket... Except that the RRS bracket I've seen for the a7II/a7rII that looks the most similar goes for $175.00 as apposed to $11.65. Here's the link to the RRS bracket I'm referring to. Is this the one you are too? Gene - My Photo Gallery ||

So, I need that extended length of the RRS bracket...yes, its more expensive, but I found mine used for $100...but if it does what I need, then that is the best fit and the right tool for the job. At the moment, I still have the Canon 5D3 in order to have fast, accurate focusing of my 100-400mm lens. I've just about decided to get the Sony 70-400 lens and the adapter for it instead. I was just asking if pyrospawn was using an a7R or R2...his signature didn't say...if it was a first generation body, I have an ishoot that I don't need anymore...no big deal...wasn't trying to get someone to spend $175 over $12... I misunderstood your post. I didn't realize you were offering your older version bracket if pyrospawn had the a7/a7r body. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||

At that point, I would sell my 5D3 and 100-400 lens. I would also sell my 17-40 and 24-105 lenses I've kept just because I still have the 5D3. That would still leave me with a Canon 70-200mm f4 and Canon 85mm f1.8 lens but since they both work so well on my Sony, I'm not in a hurry to sell them. If I did, then I would replace them with the Sony 70-200 f4 and probably the Batis 85 f1.8. Thanks for the compliment. I owned the Canon 100-400 in the past and used to shoot it on the 7D. The LAEA4 works well and actually tracks decent. Focus acquisition is a little bit slow on the 70-400, but I found the 100-400 to be somewhat slow back when I shot with Canon, so there isn't much of a difference. You might try the LAEA3 with the 70-400. The LAEA4 has minimal focus points. It doesn't really bother me, but it's a consideration. Just a thought from Daniel

I don't use an intervalometer but since Sony has a built in wireless receiver, I don't need to have a cable connected to the camera when I shoot using my wireless remote. Here's a shot of my camera bag that shows both wireless remotes I have at the lower left of the image. The one with orange print was replaced by the other one since I can start/stop video recording with that one as well as still images. Both have a 2 sec. timer if needed. I do understand why you would prefer a wired remote due to the limitations inherent with a wireless setup. It would be great if Sony came out with a professional grade intervalometer with right angle connector for use with an "L" bracket to be sure. ![]() I think the one item that is missing from that kit is a LensPen 550D | EF-S 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 IS | EF 50mm F/1.8 II | EF 70-200mm F/4L IS | Speedlite 580EX II | LumoPro LP180 | Gitzo GT3541XLS | Arca-Swiss Monoball Z1 SP | ONA Bowery (black, non-leather)
