Another of the cathedral interiors with the CV 12mm. The top one is a DxO version with some editing of shadows in ACDSee Pro and the bottom one done entirely in ACDSee Pro. There is a distinct difference in how the pixels are interpreted by DxO. Less Sony-like and more Canon-like.

Im so happy right now! My girlfriend gave me my christmas present today due to it beeing shipped a little to late and i love it. I was wanting a wide angle lens with AF to use as a casual walkaround lens and was therefore wanting the batis 25 or the FE28. Glad she got me this so she saved me from spending a grand for the batis (gene, you were treating me with gas after seeing your batis shots, lol)

I have to say im pretty pleased with it. Looks sharp and has a nice character!

Is this the ranhefinder version? ZM is M mount right? Ive been lusting for this lens so i hope you get it and can tell us how it performs on the A7R2!

Yep. Of course used, so possibly flawed in some way.

That's a great lens too. After seeing Xpfloyd's shots using this lens, I was ready to buy it when I found the Batis. I know you'll love your FE 28/2.

Nice portraits Vinz. You should break out your wood burning set to add your name on these. ;-)a

Thanks. I enjoy trying new ways to incorporate my sig into an image. Hopefully, people will take a look at my work to see if they can find it if nothing else. ;-)a

Thanks Eddie. Briefly, for the wood burning, the simplest explanation is I used two copies of the text. The top I did a bevel/emboss and adjusted the highlight/shadow colors and strengths as well as using a multiply layer blend mode if I recall. The bottom layer was copied from the top layer and then blurred to appear like the wood was singed a bit from the heat around the text.

Added: In this case I just needed to rotate the text a little to match the angle of the wood but sometimes I rasterize the text layer and then use the 'Transform' tool's perspective adjustments too.

I gotta ask, I read few nightmare stories about Sony customer service and repair centers, that they don't even have their own repair centers that its all out sourced. That repair cost is extremely high.

Anyone had any personal experience? is it something that I should be worried about?

I had a "mixed bag" experience.

They do outsource their repairs to precision camera in the United States. The main issue that I had with them is that the communication is really awful. I accidently knocked over an a7 with 70-400 mounted on the LaEA4, breaking it at the mount. They wouldn't repair the adapter, but I got a new a7 under warranty. I wasn't expecting a replacement since the damage was my fault.

I never got any emails despite requesting for email updates. They are also hard to reach on the phone and will not call back. You basically have to keep calling until you get somebody. My replacement came about 2 months after I initially sent in my stuff, so the turnaround isn't very quick. I utilized Canon repair several times and always had extremely quick service with great communication. My results were in my favor, so I can't really complain too much at the end of the day.
