^ I like the reflection and composition on the shot.

Continuing my SA Riverwalk series with this shot from the northern part of the river. You can see the Pearl Brewery and Hotel Emma in the background. The clouds were really moving that morning and it was very cold with the wind blowing. This was taken around 6 AM. I tried to clone out the crane but decided to leave it in place since I liked the star bursts.

Multiple images blended in PS CC. The full res version has tons of detail in it. The colors, especially the lights reflecting in the water, were pretty much this vibrant. I did a slight boost but not much.

Eriet, thank you very much! I wasn't sure if the scene would be too busy to the eye. Definitely lots of color. I was hoping the image would do better on 500px and Flickr but that wasn't the case. As long as I learned something from taking and developing the image, that's what matters to me.

Anyone have experience using the laea3 and laea4 with the a7 ii? I'm curious how good the focus is on the laea3 since the firmware update.

I would like to have IBIS, but wouldn't be able to purchase the a7r ii.

Speaking of IBIS, here's a 1 second exposure handheld with the FE55

I rested my arms against a rail though to stabilized myself while handholding the shot.

I use the la-ea3 with the 70-400g1, and it's good. Feels like a native lens, however, I havent used the la-ea4 and refuse to use it due to the glass in the way.

This was done with the LA-EA3, a7RII and 70-400mm. Medicineman said it was a winning combination.

Back from my trip to Arizona. Only had one good day of shooting in Sedona. Did some nice hikes along the way (in 45 degree weather, which was a nice change from our warmer CA climate).
Stay tuned as I start to process and share some of the better shots.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

Awesome BIF Advaitin !!
Just proof that the A7Rii's AF-tracking is BIF capable (dancing green boxes right!)
I've found I can get 4-5 shots before the EVF refresh rate falls behind.....that will surely be addressed in the A7Riii.
You know I was comparing the A7Rii and the SLT a77ii, well there is no comparison really. The a77ii has twice the keeper
rate if for no other reason than the 12 fps possible.
Which reminds me, why cannot a firmware update make possible to double the fps when the A7Rii is in crop mode? Seems like
a Nikon of several years ago could do this.

Take home lesson from your GBH in flight is that the A7Rii can do anything and everything, from macro to astro and everything in between :)

p.s. noticed your shutter was 1/500-I'm not brave enough trying for BIFs to go that slow.

Good point medicineman. You would think in crop mode the smaller files would save faster which in turn should theoretically allow a faster fps rate. I never shoot in burst mode so it doesn't affect me but I can see you it would help with BIF
