Tell me more of the Nissin i-40 PLEASE....any owner/users here. Nothing against the reviewers at B/H, Amazon, etc. but this is like family talking here and I know you won't bull##&t me.
Don't laugh but could you put a Better Beamer on it? I relize it's dinky. Has anyone?

With the A7Rii's AF ability(supposed at this point) I'm looking at adding a 400 5.6 for a super lightweight BIS (bird in stance, not in flight) setup. 42+ mp's will allow a super crop factor inherent, the (again hoping) hugely improved ISO is nothing but a plus and the IBIS would be icing on the 400 5.6 cake.
Thoughts?

I know 5fps is not BIF territory but in our guts we know Sony has made leaps and bounds in AF, but in no way will be able to replace a DSLR for BIFs. My only real complaint against e-mount has been (and still remains) no native FL beyond 300mm, really 240mm with the 24-240 FE. I had and enjoyed the 400 5.6 on a Nex-7 but completely MF....things could change in a massive way come August.

I've got an i40 and am really happy with it. It's pretty compact, but very powerful. Comparable to something like a 430EX in terms of power, but it does cycle a bit slower. Full tilt and swivel, makes this a very competent bounce flash. ETTL works well, as does HSS.

The interface is based on physical buttons and dials. The dials are too easy to turn by accident. Also, turning things like HSS on require you to do some funky button sequences, but not too bad once you get the hang of it.

That's a nice collection of vintage glass Brandon. Funny how things work out, I had tons of older FD and Nikon glass that i sold when I moved to digital years ago and now the stuff that interests me most is that old glass.

Thanks! I know, it's funny how mirrorless cameras have made all of that glass relevant again for a lot of folks.. If only I had known 5-6 years ago, I'd have been stocking up on it :)

Really nice looking car and I think the backdrops for both shots are terrific too.

Mystik, thanks for the time and effort to my response.
Looks to be a perfect flash for not just travel but all around photography.
I think I just read it won't slave or be slaved, correct.
And are you familiar with Better Beamer? I think power wise it will be fine if it
will fit.

Yeah. It may not recycle fast enough for event photography, but it works great for everything else. It will work as an optical slave/trigger, but it doesn't have a radio trigger/transmitter system. Never heard of the better beemer until now, but it looks like its worth picking up for outdoor fill flash and longer focal lengths!

Yes Better BEAMER works with my bigger EOS flashes, I'm tire of their weight and size too.

Awesome shots and car, Nadim!

Here is one from my archives of my baby boy. My lens had fogged up after exiting our car when we arrived at this location. It was early in the morning. I held off on deleting the original photo as I thought I could salvage it one day. Well, it turns out today is the day! :)

I used the new dehaze feature in LR CC. I think it did a nice job recovering the photo.

There's a dehaze feature in LR? I have the CC version, latest. Haven't noticed such a feature. Do tell!

Look in the develop module, scroll down to effects and then just under grain you will find it. Nice car by the way :-)

*Make certain you are on LR CC 2015.1
