Don't tell anyone that spot - the quality of the light is wonderful

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

I'm beginning to believe that the Samyang 135mm F2 is sharper than the Sony FE90

the second is just the a cropped version.

Pretty sure you're right about that. But does anyone know if Sony offers long-exposure "builds", where you can view the exposure building on the LCD and stop the bulb at the desired point?

my olympus em5 has that feature,i love it for fireworks, works great, hope the sony gets it to,very useful,i used it on water also very handy

I have that as photo in my phone so it's always available. Joel did a great job on that chart.

Charlie wrote in post #17894525 (external link)
Just print out an exposure chart found at the bottom of this page: http://www.bwvision.com …photography-2016-edition/ (external link)

keep that on you, it'll be faster than an app on your phone.

The A7S and the A5100 do. I wish they'd port that to the A7Rii via PlayMemories apps. I've even toyed with the idea of adding the 5100 just for that feature but since
I have an OMD M10ii I cant justify since it can.

How do you activate that feature on the a5100?

I didn't know my a7S could do that... how do I use that function!?

It's an app you have to buy and install at Sony's Playmemories site.
IF we're thinking the same thing.
It allows for example to do light trails of cars on highway and see the lights building up.
You stop the exposure when it looks right to you.

Like I said OMD m5ii and m10ii do this via 'live comp'....it has many other applications-waterfalls for one.

if it's an app, it should work on all the mirrorless, right?

Vin, at the Playmemories sight it will give compatibility drop down box for each Sony.
You can click on for example a7Rii and it will list all sony apps for it, or you can go
to the app and it will list the cameras it will work on.
I have many apps, have been tinkering with them since my NEX-6, I do wish
they'd give Light Trails to the A7Rii....what would an A5100 have that the A7Rii doesn't?
