has any one tried or have the zhongy speed master f.95 lenses? I've been looking at a super fast 35mm or 50mm and this lens entriques me. some reviews compared the 50mm to the lieca but other reviews didn't like it,just wondering if any one has used one or owns one

If anyone needs a DIRT CHEAP fast 50mm I have a Minolta 50mm 1.7 PF for sale, I already have the 58mm PF so I have no need for the 50mm.

Minolta was the company Sony bought out when they came into the serious camera world.

it's one of the heavier 50's, however, if you've got just one lens on you, it's really nice.

is the pp intentional with the samyang? how long have you had it and how do you like it?

I've had mine for about 3 years, I'm very happy with it.

PP?

I've had it less than a week, yesterday was my first outing with it. So far I really like it, it's a lot easier to nail focus at f/1.4 than I thought... assuming you've got the time. The RAWS require a bit more work to make it "pop" when compared to the FE 28mm for example, but the out of focus stuff renders nicely. The lens itself is a bit weighty, but its a reassuring weight and the focus ring is really nicely damped for fine tuning.

Odd, to me the lens requires very little to make the images pop. I like it just as much as any of my AF lenses. I do think it produces a sometimes strange WB, but that's easy to correct.

Went to the American History Museum in DC with some friends again, they've totally changed several exhibits since last year... I love living so close to the Smithsonian :)

Travis, which Sigma lens? Looks great!

Not sure what the mode is called but it's the one with the big green box. Maybe lock-on AF? Anyway, I tried it on this shot as my son was walking up the steps. He turned around for a split second and captured this shot.

My buddy, who turns 75 next month, is a former Marine and enlisted in the Army when he was only 16. His father was a Marine during WWII and he has a son that is a Marine Lt Col. I'd say he earned that look.
