My son has a two year old Canon bridge camera that he uses for photos on his vacations. The power zoom has started acting up and it doesn't stop when you want it to. He asked me what he thinks should be done. I have nothing but DSLR cameras and am not familiar with what he uses. Should he send it to Canon for repair? I know that they have a flat rate of $180 for even a minor repair on a DSLR, I'm not sure about bridge cameras or if they even repair them. Is there a camera repair place that any of you could recommend, he lives in the San Francisco bay area or should he just junk the camera and get something else?
