Hi all,

I just recently picked up a spotless Vivitar 28mm f/2.5 67mm filter for $10 at a random corner shop in Ho Chi Minh City. I would love to mount it to my Canon 5d but don't know what mount it is. I think it's a Minolta SR but just wanted to get some verification from the community here!

Also, if it is the SR mount, does anyone have any experience mounting these using an adapter found on amazon or ebay?

Thanks in advance!

Vinh

I know that it is not an FD mount. The FD mount looks to be "inside out" compared to a newer Canon mount. Has this lens mount been modified? The shape of the iris control pin opening has definitely been worked on.

Thanks for all the answers! It definitely looks like a hacked MC/MD mount. I took off the screws on the mount and found that there were a bunch of screw holes where the person that hacked it made some extra screw holes. The stop down lever definitely looks like it was added on.

I am going to buy one tomorrow and see if it fits and get back to you guys!

Minolta to Canon EOS adapters need corrective optics to maintain infinity focus. That makes for poor image quality, especially when used wide open.

You can buy them on ebay: ebay adapters (external link)

Can you post a shot of the front and other markings on the lens?
