Does the Sigma 70-200 Macro II (non-OS) compare to the Canon 80-200mm drainpipe in Image Quality? It will be for use on my 5d but I will also attach it to my 50d at times.....
I've had the Canon 80-200mm in the past (excellent, btw) and I'm considering getting something in that range again for portrait type work. The Sigma is more appealing in that it is newer, has close range focusing ability, lighter and slightly wider at 70mm. But how does IQ and bokeh compare?
Otherwise do you feel the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 is a better consideration.
P.S. Budget is around $650.00 so please don't suggest one of the models with Image Stabilization or an f4.0 model. I'm looking for an f2.8 lens for stated purpose.
