Moved photo folders. Now LR5 won't read CR2 files for 'new' folders

I had to repartition my external hard drive to get more space a few days ago. I moved everything in my Photos folder to a different partition. Now newer folder and some folders where I had done some LR post processing seem fine, but others not.

I checked using DPP and can open the individual folders (currently sorted by date until I subdivide by event) with no problems. I can also open individual CR2 pictures from those folders in DPP with no issue.

However when I try to import one of those folders into LR5, it states "no photos in selected folder". At which point it shows the folder in the the Library module, albeit grayed out with 0 pictures listed.

I'm at a loss. Any ideas? This must be something simple.

TIA

First, be aware that Lightroom is not a "simple, no-brainer, hands on) application. Before dumping everything into Lightroom, it would very much benefit (and help) you to "read up", and take tutorials, on both the Lightroom image management as well as image editing functions.

From the Image Management "learnings" you should find how to do such things as moving within Lightroom, where details are kept within your Library, and also "work-arounds" --when you move outside of Lightroom you right-click on a missing folder and choose to "Find" the missing file/folder and you navigate and LR will find the file/folder (as long as you haven't de;eted it) and will incorporate it into your catalog.

Understood. I have taken a lot of tutorials, albeit not enough it seems.
I've moved folders a few times before before, and have easily been able to reestablish the folder links as you described. Maybe I didn't understand your answer.

This appears to be a different issue best I can tell.
In this case, there is no missing folder link.
I am trying to import a 'new' folder into LR that exists on the HDD. No PP was done to any of these pics. I navigate to the location and click import, but it states there are no pics in the folder. Yet clearly the pictures are in the folder as I can open them in DPP outside of LR.

Here are some details:
I keep my catalog on my main MacMini, and just the raw files on the HDD.
I haven't done any PP since the move.
I moved all folders to the new partition.
All folders that have PP pictures on them, LR finds.
All other folders with just raw files and no PP it doesn't recognize. When I try to import those new pics, LR shows not pics in the folder.
I have imported some new pics from the camera since the repartition, and LR finds those; those folders are in the same location as the others.

Ok, I got it.

It had something to do with the difference between the "Documents" and "Photos" subdirectories under LR Folders.
I had "Documents" minimized which had the missing links. I was trying to get the folders showing up under "Photos" and that wasn't working. Once I maximized "Documents" it would then show the "?" indicating the missing links. That wasn't showing up before.

All's good now. I figured it was something simple, but it was whippin' me.

Thanks

Glad to know you figured things out! And thanks for sharing the details...such things could be a help for others who run into a similar problem! You can be an "expert" in that facet of Lightroom "organizing"!
