Hi,
So I read a review of the Xt-1, and I have to say I am very interested. I've been looking at for sale posts, and keep seeing other models.
They all seem to have the same specs on the surface, the same 16ish MP sensor, and they all look about the same (with the exception of the XT1 which looks bigger and more like and old SLR than an old rangefinder)

Sony "A7" is a similar situation, but I was able to get that all squared away much faster.

At this point I'm pretty convinced that the only way to go is to hope that the one and only camera store in my state happens to carry a few of these to get my hands on, but was just wondering if any of you Fujifilm shooters had any insight, pointers as to any fundamental differences I should be aware of?

thanks in advance.

The X-E2, X-T1, and X-T10 have the latest sensors. The X-T1 has the largest EVF (and its beautiful), weather sealing, and old school 35mm SLR feel to it. X-T10 is the latest model, which cuts a few corners on the X-T1 to bring the price down. The X-Pro1 (only OVF model) is a little dated and the X-E2 is their latest "rangefinder" model. Fuji is still releasing major firmware enhancements for the X-T1 as well (it's like getting a new camera), the latest coming out later this month - http://www.fujifilm.com/news/n150511.html (external link). I'd definitely give the X-T1 a try, I love mine.

The three main (interchangeable lens) lines are X-Pro (OVF), X-E (basically, EVF-only X-Pro) and X-T (X-E on steroids, but bulkier). X-M is X-E's little brother, and X-T10 is X-T1's little brother. Both have the same DNA but cut corners. Same-gen cameras have the same sensor and engine, so the choice is really one of ergonomics (although the AF engines do differ, with the X-T1's being the most performant).

X-10/20/30 are compact cameras, and X100 is fixed-focal compact rangefinder-like.

Although I like the idea of the smaller X-E line, the thing that is really drawing me towards the idea of owning a Fuji is the XT-1 control set.

Damn it looks exactly like the old full manual film bodies, even it is isn't an SLR.

Thanks for the info guys, it's helping me grasp the line.
Now I really need to get my hands on one to demo!

So my local "Hunt's" store had the X-t1 demo for me to paly with.
I really want one, and I think i may have walked out with it if it weren't for the fact that today a happened to read about the forthcoming X-T10!

It adds some new features, and loses few vs. the X-T1, and will cost about $300.00 or so less.

It is supposed to be out in June, so i will wait and likely jump on that one!

The new AF features are all coming to the X-T1 in the 4.0 firmware update later this month as well. Gotta love Fuji for that! It's like getting a new camera.

The EVF and the dials + weather sealing are worth the extra, did I mention the EVF?

I'm still torn, might wait to see if the price goes down on X-T1, might get the 10, might not wait,. :)

Which adapter will you get for your mirrorless body Jake and why?

Do they make adapters for EF?
ie: I have no idea! :)

I'll have to do some research on that, but at first i'll just get a bundled lens and go with that for a while.
One sad part of the Fuji is it is not 4/3rds.

No, I have no I idea. I thought you need to have some type of adapter to use Canon lens on Mirrorless body.

So they do make them, but it seems that the ones made to mount Canon EF lenses are all pretty "dumb" ie: they do not allow any auto focus or IS etc.

There is one that includes a control to stop the lens down, but most just allow you to use the lens manual focus and only wide open.

I know on the Sony A7 etc, one can get some very useful fully automated adapters.

It's a good idea to wait for the release of the XT-10. By then, the XT-1 will drop even more. The XT-10 is slightly smaller and will have the features that most people need from the XT-1. I look at the relation of XT-1 vs XT-10 as similar to Olympus' EM-5 vs EM-10, if you're familiar with them. Essentially same camera, but one is scaled back and at a lower price point.

The Sony A7 series is unique in that the different sensors make it completely different cameras.

The X-T1 is currently on sale for $1,150 or $1,450-1,500 for the kits. I know this sale ends at the end of June, so I fully expect the prices on the X-T1 to rise shortly after the X-T10 releases. The X-T10 looks like a cool system, but the X-T1 is still the big dog in the Fuji lineup. Right now the different in price is hard to decide on, as I am also going through the process of deciding what I want to do about getting into Fuji. The X-T1 kit is only $350 more than the X-T10, and the X-T1 has the bigger EVF, significantly better buffer, higher resolution LCD, weather sealing, and the additional manual dial controls.
