Fragile, ridiculously expensive lace = freaked out models during shoot! But it turned out nice and we had a lot of fun. There were 2 other looks but these were the best shots by far.

You're not kidding. These are dynamite.

Maybe try fading the color out to the point that it's barely there. Make them look a little more period.

Terrific photos! I like saea501's idea of doing a bit more vintage processing.

What were you using for the post processing if you don't mind? Nice work.

Thank you! It was pretty much all curves adjustment layers and dodging and burning. In photoshop of course. I desaturated the red channel for the skin just a tad and gave them a very slight overall cyan tone.

Nice styling, composition and model choice, however the portraits look some what over sharpened imo and the levels of texture and noise sharpness between face neck and shoulders seems far apart.

WOW! Very nicely done. Was this done as a professional shoot? If not, it easily could have been. Between the hair, makeup, clothing styling, the lighting and overall photography, it's definitely professional work fit for a magazine. Vogue, for instance, does themed shoots every month, and some of the editors, like Grace Coddington, will do something along those lines with both glamour and elegance.

Bravo! Wonderful work.

Thank you very much! And no, it wasn't exactly a professional shoot in the traditional (commissioned) sense but everyone involved is a pro in one way or another. I don't do photography full-time but I do get paid for it here and there so I guess that counts. :)

And yes I'm aware that the facial skin of the portraits appears over-sharpened; the actual prints do not, it's just the way the web versions turned out and I struggled with it quite a bit before giving up and letting it go. No sharpening process was used on them at all (but was for printing). I shot them at a lower aperture so that's why the neck and shoulders appear less sharp, but then where her chest curves back into the focal plane the dress is sharp again.
