So i shot my first wedding this weekend. I learned really fast which items some extra items I should bring with me.

1. a change of clothes - Shooting the formals, i squatted down to shoot the ring bearer and flower girl and ripped my pants. not just a little tear, ripped them wide open so my ass was hanging out. Awesome. Luckily i lived close so i was able to run home and change before the reception started, other wise i would have had to shoot the night with my shirt untucked :P and looking very sloppy. I guess no more slim fit khakis from now on!

so it got me thinking, what essential items do you pack when shooting weddings that arent inherently photography related?

We shoot in a country with 80%+ humidity most of the year, so a change of clothes for us is a must, along with a travel toiletries kit.

As photographers you end up being everyman. We carry safety pins, a wooden hangar, first aid kits (mostly for headaches or bad stomachs), emergency snacks, water, duct tape, etc. On that note, need to replace the Swiss Army Knife.

I carry everything people have said, except a knife. Ladders are really helpful, snacks are essential (something you can eat with one hand while driving), hand cleaner, coat, printed maps (I don't rely 100% on smart phone as they occasionally send me the wrong way), sun block is essential.
