I'm in the process of building my macro rig, I've gotten some ideas from reading through the threads here and seeing a lot of fantastic setups here in this forum with different brackets/arms and various diffusers etc.

However, adding all these brackets, arms, diffusers etc to the camera will result in the setup being sort of bulky.
How do you carry it when moving between locations? Do you dissemble the rig and reassemble it later? Or do you simply carry everything on a strap over your shoulder?

I just carry my rigs by the flash bracket handle when walking around but If I'm going somewhere in the car then I take the flash off the bracket and put the cameras in a camera bag which takes two complete bodies with just one partition in it plus the flashes placed carefully over the top.

Heya,

I leave it assembled and just carry it by the magic arm as it's sturdy and acts like a big handle. Since my setup literally is all mounted onto the lens, I generally leave it together and if I need that particular camera, it comes off and I leave my lens + flash setup + cable assembled and take the camera for whatever I need. Makes for quick grab & go for when I get the itch to go outside and walk around the field for bugs.

Very best,
