Hello everyone I was wondering what's top 3 best wide angle lens on the budget? I have 18-55 stm, 55-250 stm and 50 1.8 II so am looking for under 18mm. I will use it alot for landscape, probably urban, cityscape and night photography. Prefer under 300, used ones are ok and any brand is fine. Also what about nd filter for it? Any good budget ones? Prefer the ones that can change on it instead of changing different filters. Thanks in advance! Also won't be able to get them until July or Aug when I get the renter tax refund.

The Canon EFS 10-18mm IS STM seems to get good reviews.

Too bad you missed this one: https://photography-on-the.net …hp?t=1429369&goto=newpost

10-22mm would be great with your setup. Good luck searching!

Back when I was researching a WA/UWA for a crop, I came away with an EF-S 10-22 as my first choice, followed closely by a Tokina 11-16.

I don't know what used/refub prices look like for these, but they might be worth checking out.

I have no skin in the game (I have the Sigma 8-16 which is well past your range). I think the general consensus is that the EF-S 10-18 is better than the venerable 10-22 and less expensive!

Alright awesome... I have heard about great things about those 3 lens! How about budget ND filters that changes on the filter?

Using this site Link (external link) to compare, set at similar focal length and apertures, they look pretty close. One has the edge at some settings the other has the edge at others. Of course the 10-22 gives you 4 more mm, which on a UWA, can be kind of significant. I haven't compared prices. I'm guessing whichever he can get cheaper might be the one to go with. Maybe the 10-18, as you say.

Yes, we are not talking about earth shattering performance differences... Price is one thing. The EFS 10-22 has at least one stop more in aperture, which may be important if the OP wants to try Astro... Never done it myself...

The EF-S 10-22 is not a good Astrophotography lens. Get the EF-S 10-18 STM.

10-18 STM it is! Now all I have to do is wait until July/Aug.

Anyone have this ND filter? http://www.natcam.com/products/67mm-variable-nd (external link)

Also just looked at photo samples of 10-18 STM..... wow it blows me away! :)

Before the 10-18 was introduced there was a lot of debate on this subject. Now that it's out, there's simply no question on a budget UWA, it's the lens to buy without hesitation.

I have owned the 10-22mm EF-S since mid 2008. I decided to get a 10-18mm STM, so I would have a full matching set of STM lenses for my new Rebel T6s. Let us put it this way-no one will pay what the 10-22mm EF-s is now worth-I will gift it to my brother. The 10-18mm STM is great, and has the added bonus of IS enabling hand holding to counteract the slow 4.5-56 max aperture, Get it, you won't regret it:)

considering the sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 is now discontinued i'd keep a look out for deals with it...you should be able to find it for sub $300 new soon, you'd get 4 year warranty, it used to be considered the budget UWA before the 10-18 came out

Alright 10-18 STM it is! Wanna keep my collection of lens STM lol too bad I don't have 50mm STM since I think there's very very small upgrade or none at all from II. They need to make STM super zooms next!

I think the 55-250 STM is as close as you're going to get. I think they only way you'd get an STM superzoom like a 150-600 or a 100-400 is if it was f/8 or worse, and those won't focus on rebels. Maybe in another 5-10 years when the rebels all have f/8 center points they'll make one.
