Bokeh is bokeh, it doesn't matter how 'creamy' it is.

It does when you use the term bokeh in its true meaning, which isnt anything to do with DoF.... its about the quality of the out of focus areas... still its not important as i think i know how you mean it.

From a review site i found on google

10mm f4

Versatile within it's 10-20 range. What do u think I mean?

Those shots weren't all taken on full frame btw - the Tokina seems to do bokeh relatively well (for an UWA) at 2.8 on a crop.

The canon can do it ok at f3.5, I just wanted to see an example of the Sigma at f4.0 - because I can't afford the Tok or the Canon, but I want a versatile UWA.

I think it is as versatile as the other two mentioned. They all have their advantages:
I had to make a choice then too, all i can say is that the sigma serves me well, but hey, rather have the canon...:) (its sharper, i think thats proven)

Haha nice to hear :)

I think the lack of corner sharpness and 1 stop don't equate to the $300 extra I would need to spend (Australian) for the Canon. And the Tokina just doesn't have enough range, although the prime-like sharpness is very enticing.

I will probably end up with this Sigma, it's too cheap to pass on (by comparison to alternatives) I just want to make sure I am not better off waiting, by regretting anything.

Waiting is a waste of time...in my case i know what i want in days, then its taking me weeks to get confirmed from people on this forum that i am making the right choice... next time, i'll buy it after days instead of weeks..

Oh, and i am sure the sharpest copy of this sigma is sharper then the softest copy of a canon 10-22...

oh and:
Found this in my personal gallery...ahum :o.. i think focus is somewhere on the ketchup screwcap, its also at f4 and 10mm

i still think the focal length is the real disadvantage to getting good amount of out of focus area...i can get more blur at 20mm f5.6 than 10mm f4

awesome shots of cars. is it best to use a high f number so more is on focus rather than a smaller dof?
