I've noticed a bit of an issue with my t4i with the LCD turning off when I'm using the touchscreen to adjust settings. It seems that the sensor that turns off the LCD when the camera is near your face is too sensitive and sees my hand. This only happens when I'm in direct sunlight, indoors or in the shade it's fine. Anyone have any fixes for this?

The sensor that detects the presence of your face is built into the hot shoe (see attached photo). Turning it off is covered on page 213 of the manual. When its off, it would be like my 60D and the feature isn't anything I wish for. :) Unfortunately it doesn't have a sensitivity adjustment. It is however worthwhile cleaning it with a Q-tip and make sure the eyepiece doesn't block it in any way.
