I shoot a markIII, have a 580EXII, i have the Mini TT1 and the Flex TT5. I also have the AC3.

I mount the flash on the Flex and the mini to my camera......

When I am in Ettl mode it fires full power no matter what. I can adjust the power manually on the flash no problem but ETTL deosnt seem to be figuring anything out.

The Ac3 does not adjust power to my flash at all.

How do I even begin to figure out what is not working correctly? Is it the flash? Camera? Pocket wizard system?

I believe ETTL is working when the flash is mounted on my camera.

Thanks!

If the flash is working properly on camera, then its your trigger system that's faulty. when its mounted on the trigger it thinks its on the camera so the flash bahviour doesnt change. I cant really help you with the PW system, except recommend you sell them for a set of YN622c's. The PW sytem has been spotty since it was introduced.

I had the exact thing happen to me recently but it was with different equipment. Turns out it was an operator malfunction. I forgot to enable the triggers in the camera menu. Difference too I was not shooting ETTL.

I'll second the suggestion for the YN system though. I bought the 622C TX and the 622C......pretty slick set up.

Is your flash set master which is default?

Next you can start over here: http://wiki.pocketwizard.com …title=MiniTT1_and_FlexTT5 (external link)

Pay attention to the switch-on order for Flash-Mini-Camera.

Yes! I forgot about this. It does make a difference.

The communication failures between the 580 EXII and the FLEX system have been noted for years. That is why I invested in the Canon 600 EX-RT System when introduced in 2012.
Having the opportunity to shoot flash in Manual, ETTL, or a combination of both utilizing Group Mode, while in Radio Mode has really opened up the doors.
Seemless communication for three years now.

The flash works correctly while mounted on the camera. I turn on the the mini, flex, flash and then the camera.....I read on PW site that the mkIII and he 580EXII is compatible.....so what is left? I also have a 550 canon flash......it just seems weird that PW would sell canon version that is not compatible with Canon gear

Really.... you go top down flash-pw-camera. Did it ever appear to that something can be broken?

You opened a new thread. That is fine but makes helping you o so difficult.
