This was handheld, had him laying down on a low rock. Every once in awhile the articulating screen on the 60D is helpful

What a cute little guy! I kind of miss mine being that small, kind of... :)

As for the shot, something about the editing doesn't seem to match the subject (for me). Maybe it's just the background or the vignetting, I can't quite put my finger on it. Having said that, I still like it - I just think I personally, would try some different edits.

It's got a filtery, Instagram look to it IMO - desat and boosted contrasts.

I'd get some color back in there, bring up the shadows on the right side of the face and perhaps burn the left/right edges to complete the vignette.
