I have had a lot of requests for drone photography for larger properties, horse farms, and commercial applications. I realize that there are some FAA regulations to deal with and I am keeping up with them as best as possible and considering them as I embark on this next venture in my business. Aside from overbearing government regulations aspect, my primary consideration is how to structure my pricing. I was thinking about $100/flight plus an additional fee based on still or video photography.

Has anyone else gone down this road or have any experience with this? I'm really interested in your input.

Thanx, Jim

He's a photographer (and a relative of mine) and I don't think he's on POTN.

But he's been a sports photog for years and now he's using drones. Maybe he can give you some tips.

I have no set price but I can say that my typical prices range anywhere from $25-40 per photo depending on how many shots, location, bundled with other services, etc. I feel like I'm under-priced as well.

Sorry to open an old thread, but I'm curious with all the new regulations what is your new CODB (cost of Doing Business)?

Curious if anyone is able to justify the cost to become a licensed pilot just to provide realtors with drone views? Seems like an up hill battle when photographers aren't doing the basic accounting to run a sustaining business.

My drone has paid for itself and now I am on my second one. Plus my clients don't have to look elsewhere to get drone photography and I prefer that.

I have 0 interest in flying a drone but I was getting pressure from clients. After looking I to the cost and the additional expense of insurance, licensing, ect., I thought I must able to find someone to do this for me. I pay my drone guy $60 per house. It has worked well for me and they are also happy with the arrangement.
