here is a pic of the cone gel i made for the CL-360.

I left three tabs around the open end of the cone that are taped down to the silver base of the "Mushroom Diffuser" with some gaff tape. I used an online cone template generator that gives the dimensions and a scale image output. I copied the scale image and took it into Adobe Illustrator where i made it full size according to the measurements provided then printed it out to use as pattern for the gel. Sounds more complicated than it is, it worked well.

If you are only doing a few pops on low power that would work just fine. However the hole in the end of the bulb is important for ventilation so there are potential problems with covering it so tightly.

Over heating the bulb might lead to an early end of life for the bulb, or it might melt the gel to the bulb, or it might just trigger the flash's thermal protection for a cool of period.

the diffuser base provides ventilation toward the back, plus there is a tiny gap where the cone doesn't meet perfectly.

It's not clear from the angle of my picture. The corners are both open allowing for ventilation.

How you folded the gel will create problems since you'll be doubling the effect.
