Just as an FYI, if you are using a lens with a max aperture of f/2.8 or larger, the center AF point and the other 6 AF points above and below the center AF point will work as cross-type sensors so you don't have to limit yourself to just the center AF point.

And that does work realy good!!;)

My two favorites, 1D MK II + 70-200 2.8 IS Just cant get them apart

Does anyone know which CF this is? Is it 21?

Yep... I think it defaults to focus priority, or NOT shutter priority. My old Nikon lingo is coming back... sorry about that.

Good point... and its so easy to switch while you are shooting. I guess my point was everyone uses "single" focus point, rather than the "auto" focus point selection.

Switching AF points is a snap, and being able to shortcut back to your registered point is a nice touch.

Used in combination with the "*" button to turn AF on and off, you have a lot of flexibility.

Love mine. for sports, agree with above comments about CF4-1 for * focus, and CF for focus-priority in AI-servo (CF-21 set to 0, the default). Would also suggest disabling focus point expansion CF-17 set to 0) and setting tracking sensitivity to slow or moderately slow (Cf20 to 1 or 2). I'm fond of Cf18-1 which allows using the assist button to rapidly select the registered AF point, which I leave at center, combined with CF11-0. Then CF13-1 lets you use spot metering on the active focus point for when you do select a non-center point. Sweet.

Thanks everyone! Believe me, I'd take a week off of work right now if I could.:)

David, I have the same setup, almost. Currently, I have AF tracking sensitivity set to moderately fast but I have yet to see how it does in the field. What are your thoughts?

It is a little sketchy on what that actually does. I have found that in most cases it is based on the subject's movement applied by your skill in panning.

When I shoot runways, I set it to slow or moderate and I seem to get more focused pictures than it is on fast.
