Does anybody know whether the 1d3 has any problems accessing SD cards > 32 GB?

And what is the fastest speed card (for SD and CF) that would give me an advantage in the 1d3?

My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.

32 is the limit for SD cards, I don't know about CF.

One has to be careful of terminology. A "true" SD card only has a capacity up to 2 GB while an SDHC card goes from 4 to 32 GB by the original specification. The specification was revised and in 2010 Sandisk offered 64 GB. Other manufacturers followed in the 64 GB offering.

SDXC according to Sandisk covers from 64 GB to 2 TB.

Well there is another problem and that is the filesystem on the card. Up to 32 GB people agree on what a FAT filesystem should look like. Above 32 GB there is a whole variety of hacks for different devices.

That can be a real pain when using devices that do not have software to format the card built in. My h4n recorder for example uses > 32 GB cards but with the filesystems I created with different format options on other systems it gets confused at some point. At least the Canons can format on their own and then you can be sure you get the hacks the camera understands.
