On the Luminous Landscape, in the Lightroom section:

"You guys might want to check the Lightroom Journal (external link) later tonite (like after 11pm central time)."

I wonder what's up... [eye roll]

There's a whole hilarious thread about that on LuLa too. As usual it turns into name calling in about 2 pages, especially if you point out that there are already dehaze solutions out there.

Well, the news is that Adobe has released Camera Raw 9.1 and Lightroom 6.1.

Unfortunately, the two new features, Dehaze and Local White and Black Adjustment Sliders, are being limited to the CC versions of ACR and LR. The non-CC versions will still get camera updates and bug fixes, just not the fancy new features, Oh Well!

If thats the case the Scott Kelby was right after all.

What I really REALLY would like to see from LR/ACR is the full array of HSL sliders available on the local adjustment brush. I seem to use HSL all of the time, but having it be a global only adjustment is a PITA. I am always wanting to remove the yellow/green colour cast from the bottom side of aircraft. Currently I have to apply the targeted desaturation using the global HSL tools, then paint the saturation back into the areas that contain those colours. If you have an aircraft with big areas of yellow, and the ground in shot, this can take quite a while. As others have pointed out the Saturation slider for the brush is some complex combination of both Vibrance and Saturation, that changes relationship with the brush setting. I have found that a setting of +52 seems quite good at putting back any reduced saturation from the HSL system, but it is far from perfect.

Of course he was right. All he did was reiterate what has been Adobe policy since "forever". New features come with new versions, not intermediate updates. The fact that this policy does not include CC applications which don't really have new versions, only one evolving version, may have had some folk supposing that the policy would be abandoned entirely and that they could buy beer and receive champagne, but it ain't gonna happen.

I assume you meant NON-CC applications. CC includes all the updates and new features. The question is whether there will be Lightroom 7 and Photoshop CS7 with Camera Raw 10 and whether the new features will be incorporated into them.

And all we have to do is wait 1.5 to 2 years to find out. But hey, somebody in Washington, Moscow, Teheran or Jerusalem may have pushed the button by then.
