So, I know this is mainly a Canon forum, but I jumped ship to the A6000 to lighten my load and maintain performance. I don't want to take more than 4 lenses to keep weight down. Here is what I'm thinking. To pick between these two Rokinon 8mm 2.8 fisheye Rokinon 12mm 2.8 ultra wide (Might lean toward fish-eye because it's easier to keep manual focus, and I can always remove distortion. Downside is no filters)

Then my 16-50 kit my 55-210 (Both are inexpensive, so I'm ok with damage/theft/loss but have excellent optics, are lightweight and compact)

And either
135 f2.8
55 f2
50 1.7
35 1.7

What would you guys bring? I"m not into birds and stuff like that. Mostly landscape and architecture with a splash of candid street culture.

I think my 16-50 55-210 8mm and 50mm would be perfect...thoughts?

If it were me with that camera I'd go with the following;

Samyang 12mm f2
16-50mm kit
35mm f1.8 or FE 28mm f2

Fuji X-T3 // Fuji X-Pro2 (Full Spectrum) // Fuji X-H1 // Fuji X-T1

35 or 50mm 1.8 (depends on what you prefer, I like 35mm more myself) and the 16-50mm just in case and because it's so small/light.

So you guys wouldn't even worry about bringing a zoom? I guess I could always crop, it's a very sharp camera with enough MP to get in tight. I just know there will be that one moment where I'm shooting surfers or something and think 'damn, I wish I had a fast AF zoom"

Having visited Europe for 3 months a few years ago with a Tamron 18-270mm I can tell you that almost all of the shots that were beyond 85-100mm weren't really worth keeping anyway (except for the Berlin Zoo shots) and the vast majority were below 50mm.

Everyone's taste is different, but I think wider and standard primes would be far more useful and you'll definitely want to be packing light.

I think a wide and standard prime would do a good job. I travel exclusively with my Fuji x100 (35mm equiv.) and have never regretted not having a zoom. But then again, everyone's shooting style is different.

wide zoom and a couple of primes.

and from what you have i would go with a new 85 and the 135.

unless the 16-35 is less light than 2.8
